Leer hoe TIBCO-klanten werken met Wide and Big data.

Journey of Building Streaming Data Pipelines - BED-Con 2019Sebastian Herold
Zalandos AI-driven products and distributed landscape of analytical data marts cannot wait for long-running, hard-to-recover, monolithic batch jobs taking all night to calculate already outdated data. Modern data integration pipelines need to deliver fast and easy to consume data sets in high quality. Based on Spark Streaming and Delta, the central data warehousing team was able to deliver widely-used master data as S3 or Kafka streams and snapshots at the same time. The talk will cover challenges in our fashion data platform and a detailed architectural deep dive about separation of integration from enrichment, providing streams as well as snapshots and feeding the data to distributed data marts. Finally, lessons learned and best practices about Delta's MERGE command, Scala API vs Spark SQL and schema evolution give more insights and guidance for similar use cases.

Unifying Streaming and Historical Telemetry Data For Real-time Performance Re...Databricks
"In the oil and gas industry, utilizing vast amounts of data has long been identified as an important indicator of operational performance. The measurement of key performance indicators is a routine practice in well construction, but a systematic way of statistically analyzing performance against a large data bank of offset wells is not a common practice. The performance of statistical analysis in real-time is even less common. With the adoption of distributed computing platforms, like Apache Spark, new analysis opportunities become available to leverage large-scale time-series data sets to optimize performance. Two case studies are presented in this talk: the rate of penetration (ROP) and the amount of vibration per run.
By collecting real-time, telemetry data and comparing it with historic sample datasets within the Databricks Unified Analytics Platform, the optimization team was able to quickly determine whether the performance being delivered matched or exceeded past performance with statistical certainty. This is extremely important while trying new techniques with data that is highly variable. By substituting anecdotal evidence with statistical analysis, decision making is more precise and better informed. In this talk we'll share how we accomplished this and the lessons learned along the way."
Making IoT Data Actionable Using Predictive AnalyticsHPCC Systems
As part of the 2018 HPCC Systems Summit Community Day event:
This is a proof-of-concept where an HPCC Systems cluster is used to gather current IoT device data from opt-in subscribers. The cluster's architecture and collected data will be described in the presentation, as well as the additional datasets (e.g. property characteristics, weather, etc.) brought in to enhance the data for analysis using predictive analytics for potential applications in the insurance industry.
Dan Camper has been with LexisNexis Risk for four years and is a Senior Architect in the Solutions Lab Group. He has worked for Apple and Dun & Bradstreet, and he ran his own custom programming shop for a decade. He's been writing software professionally for over 35 years and has worked on a myriad of systems, using a lot of different programming languages. He thinks ECL is pretty neat.

In his keynote, Jason looks at some of the challenges that in-memory approaches to data and data processing are helping to overcome today. But he also gazes into his crystal ball to ask what the future holds for in-memory computing. Specifically, how will in-memory approaches change in the next three to five years, as it is increasingly relied upon to support the emerging Internet of Things? Jason also briefly looks at some of the other nascent technologies that are likely to be used in parallel with in-memory computing, and he wraps up by asking what kind of role in-memory is likely to play in related areas such as cloud computing and edge analytics.
In March of 2014, I gave a private talk to the HubSpot Executive team on how the Product organization was able to operate with a highly autonomous model. Because we had set records for employee happiness, customer happiness and team performance the rest of HubSpot was curious to how they could adopt a similar model for their teams.

Putting the SPARK into Virtual Training.pptxCynthia Clay
This 60-minute webinar, sponsored by Adobe, was delivered for the Training Mag Network. It explored the five elements of SPARK: Storytelling, Purpose, Action, Relationships, and Kudos. Knowing how to tell a well-structured story is key to building long-term memory. Stating a clear purpose that doesn't take away from the discovery learning process is critical. Ensuring that people move from theory to practical application is imperative. Creating strong social learning is the key to commitment and engagement. Validating and affirming participants' comments is the way to create a positive learning environment.

Understanding User Needs and Satisfying ThemAggregage
https://www.productmanagementtoday.com/frs/26903918/understanding-user-needs-and-satisfying-them
We know we want to create products which our customers find to be valuable. Whether we label it as customer-centric or product-led depends on how long we've been doing product management. There are three challenges we face when doing this. The obvious challenge is figuring out what our users need; the non-obvious challenges are in creating a shared understanding of those needs and in sensing if what we're doing is meeting those needs.
In this webinar, we won't focus on the research methods for discovering user-needs. We will focus on synthesis of the needs we discover, communication and alignment tools, and how we operationalize addressing those needs.
Industry expert Scott Sehlhorst will:
• Introduce a taxonomy for user goals with real world examples
• Present the Onion Diagram, a tool for contextualizing task-level goals
• Illustrate how customer journey maps capture activity-level and task-level goals
• Demonstrate the best approach to selection and prioritization of user-goals to address
• Highlight the crucial benchmarks, observable changes, in ensuring fulfillment of customer needs
