This document is a compare and contrast essay about the Harry Potter and Twilight franchises. It summarizes that both stories feature three main characters, one of which is a girl surrounded by two boys, and all of the characters have magical powers they must keep secret. However, the characters gain their powers differently - wizards in Harry Potter are born with abilities while vampires in Twilight must be bitten to gain their powers. The essay also contrasts the intentions of the main characters Harry Potter and Edward Cullen, their personalities, and how both franchises attracted devoted teenage fans despite being set in different magical worlds.

In this essay I am going to present a comparative analysis of how similar and different
is presented in both 'Harry Potter' and 'Twilight'. Despicte the fact that this character is
present in both type of techniques which the Wizarding World of Harry Potter versus the
vampire-filled Forks, Washington in Twilight Saga. Both of them have similarities in main
characters, and the magic abilities while differences among both main characters.
First, by comparing these two movies, it is very obvious that both led by three main
characters. In the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, the movie is led by Harry, Ron and
Hermione, whereas Edward, Bella and Jacob are the one who led in The Twilight. In the
movies, there are both one girl character out of three and surrounded by two boy
character which create love stories among them.
Secondly, they all have magical powers and have to keep their power a secret from
humans, the "muggels" in Harry Potter. All the wizards in Harry Potter movie are born
with their special own abilities and are sent to magic school be trained to use them
when they grow older. In The Twilight, they both have magical abilities, but they have to
be changed by an existing vampire to become a new vampire. However, the Twilight
werewolves, which Jacob is one of them, are born with a gene that allows them to
become a strong werewolve if necessary. Although it is something different of how they
get their magical power, but both are using their power to protect their love.
The contrast between this two movies series can be say as two different types of movie
genre. The intentions of the two main character of two movie series shows that Harry
Potter from 'Harry Potter; is teen action movie, whereas the Edward Cullen from 'The
Twilight' is categorized as teen magical action movies. In the 'Harry Potter', Harry is
trying to defeat the evil wizard, Lord Voldemort, stay as far as possible from the
Dursleys, and to live a normal life. While in the 'Twilight', Edward is to live in peace
among humans, to be as human as possible and live with his love one, Belle.
The personality among Harry and Edward is also different and created hot topics
throughout the net which discuss about who will actually win if they meet each other.
Harry Potter is a caring, brave and smart boy since he is young and able to stand up

3. among other to fight and protect his friends. He is humble, sporty and helpful also when
playing the Wizard football even will try to save his opposite team when they have
danger. Beside, Edward is a romantic, self loathing and cynical vampire. He is old and
competitive to be survive for hundreds year for not to be killed by other Vampire enemy
and werewolves. Compare to the hot-headed Harry, cold Edward is a jealous guy and
also a mind-reader. His powerful magical abilities help him to be one of the successful
vampire in the vampire-filled Forks.
No matter it is about magical Wizards or romantic Vampires, it is very sure that, there
are teen "super-fans" involved. Both are the leading trios of teenage genre and have
become media magnets all over the world. The targeted teenage age group are
definitely fall into both Harry Potter and Twilight Sage and always being the topics
among youngster.
In contrast, both movies are successfully stay on the top rank movie all around the
world. The key definitely is the love story among the Wizard life and Vampire World.
Both are the same, not normal human life.
