4.1 The Company
DPB Productions was established in 2007 by its director and founder Prempeh Akontoh. Our philosophy is
the belief in making the impossible, possible for our clients hence our initials “dpb” whereby if one were
to rotate the “d” counter clockwise it would become a “p” and if at the same time one were to flip the “d”
horizontally it would become a “b” and so the pattern goes. We therefore “metamorphosise” an idea into
whatever reality you would like it to become and it is no wonder we stand by the resonating motto of “WE
ARE BECOMING.”

In the year 2004 Prempeh Akontoh graduated with an honors degree in the field of Dramatic Arts at the
University of the Witwatersrand where he specialized in film, television and design work. He further went on
to obtain a Post Graduate Diploma in digital arts specializing in interactive design and multimedia. Prempeh
Akontoh has a 10 year experience within the video, television and events industry. He has created a range
of video and design products such as corporate, marketing, training, documentaries, promos and music
videos for various clients in both the ATL and BTL space. He has produced work for various brand activation
campaigns, which involve print media as well as outside media. Some of the clientele include companies such
as BOSCH, ACSA, Nedbank, and BMW to name but a few.
Within his television career he has produced and edited works for DSTV broadcasting channels such as CNBC
Africa, Africa Magic as well as various ad agencies.
Throughout the entire span of his career he has gained a wealth of experience and spends some of his time
providing consultancy services to various media agencies.
