1. Community Service
Community service has become a very strong interest of mind both before
attending the University of Arizona and even more so now after being here. I have
been immersed by many different types of people and many with the same
mindset’s. When thinking about community service there are endless
opportunities to get involved. For example, this can be done through cleaning the
environmentor helping those in need, the less fortunate. In my past I havebeen
involved with the Fire Department/ EMS and also have been involved with Habitat
for Humanity. I love reaching out to the community and the feeling it bring when
you help thosewho need it most. In my fraternity we are big advocates of
reaching out to those with disabilities. Through philanthropy, wehave many
different events all across Americanamed “The Ability Experience”. Our goal is to
create a community, one relationship at a time, wherethe abilities of all people
are recognized and valued. We useshared experiences to supportthosewith
disabilities and develop the men involved with our fraternity. Our mission is to
“Build America” through fundraisers such as our bike ride across America, starting
in Los Angeles, California and ending in Washington D.C. We promote accessible
recreation for those with disabilities through construction and wilderness
activities. I believe that giving back should be a mission for all.
