:
The word community has been
derived from two Latin words namely,
“con” and “munis”.’ In English “con”
means together and ‘munis’ means to
serve. thus, community means to
serve together.
The community is an organization of
human beings framed for the purpose

The WHO defines community health as: Environmental,
Social, and Economic resources to sustain emotional and
physical well being among people in ways that advance their
aspirations and satisfy their needs in their unique
environment.
