Kids Ministry Intern for The Crossing May 2014-August 2014
Serving as the intern for The Crossing, a large multi-campus church, I organized
lesson plans, prepared rooms for weekend services, and developed organization
systems for communication between campuses.
Wildcat Ambassador August 2013-May 2014
Part of this position requires attending Preview Nights in cities and towns around
Lexington as well as continually promoting the University to potential students.
Involvement
Undergraduate Research January 2014-present
Working in a neuroscience lab, I am creating education models for teaching
scientific concepts in middle schools and using mathematical modeling to analyze
various data sets regarding neurotransmitter release.
Rec-Fit Personal Training Course January 2014-present
After completing this biweekly course, I will be prepared to take a course that
certifies me as a personal trainer through the American Council on Exercise.
K-Book Editorial Board August 2014-present
A group of 10 students meet weekly to write the New Student Handbook, the K-
Book. We write, edit and approve the design for the book that introduces incoming
students to UK, Lexington and the various resources on campus
Student Government Association-Speech Writer August 2014-present
I work under the president to prepare speeches for various events that have
included alumni lunches, a mayoral debate introduction and induction ceremonies.
Chi Omega-Special Events Committee September 2014-present
This committee works to coordinate restaurant fundraising nights and prepare a
Silent Auction to raise money for the Make-A-Wish foundation.
Chi Omega-Campus Activities Coordinator August 2013-present
My position as campus activities chair allows me to insure all members remain
involved on campus per Chi Omega national bylaws.
Leadership Development Program September 2013-May 2014
I was afforded opportunities to network with campus officials and student leaders
while simultaneously learning how to improve my own leadership skills.
Student Government Association Promotions Team January 2013-May 2014
I worked to help promote the various Student Government events on campus as
well as the major programs supported by Student Government.
Service Liaison December 2013-May 2014
I worked with staff members at the Hope Center to develop a service schedule and
find practical ways for my Singletary service group to help them.
Awards
Otis A. Singletary Scholarship
This scholarship is the highest academic honor awarded to University of Kentucky
students. I receive full tuition, room and board, a yearly stipend and a study abroad
stipend. Singletary scholars are expected to engage in a service-learning project and
maintain excellence in academics and involvement during their time on campus.
