A Machine minder with a good solid knowledge of printing, with 28 years sound experience
Of 4,5,6 and 8 colour processes.
Employment:
December 2005 to Present Day: The Magazine Printing Company, 1082 Mollison Avenue,
Enfield, Middlesex, EN3 7NT.
Employed as a No1 Machine minder operating an 8 Colour Heidelberg Speedmaster 74
Press, Producing a high quality range of varied magazines, including magazine covers
printed on paper up to 300gsm.I work 3 or 4 twelve hour night shifts working on my own
initiative with no manager present and passing my own work. With my time at this
company I have gained good experience in perfecting work and also Further knowledge of
the CPC 2000 touch Screen.
I have also had some experience on a 5 colour UV press (Heidelberg 74).
October 2004 to December 2005: Various Printing Companies.
In this period I was working on a self employed basis, working at various printing companies
operating Heidelberg 102 and 74 presses.
February 2003 to October 2004: The colour Factory, unit 7 Old Ford trading estate,
Maverton Road, London E3.
At the Colour Factory I operated a Heidelberg 102 and an older 72 press, printing a wide
range of work from large format posters to page numbered book work, spread across 4 ten
hour shifts.
July 1998 to October 2002: Zebra/printhouse Ltd 2 Peartree Street, London EC1.
Employed as a No1 Machine minder, I worked 12 hour day shifts sometimes working at
weekends and also working night shifts. I operated a Heidelberg 102, producing all
different types of work.
Employment cont:
November 1994 to March 1998: John Cleland Ltd Burwell Road, Leyton E10.
Employed as a No2 Machine minder working on a B1 six colour Komori Lithrone, I had built
on my previous experience of four and five colour Komori machines and gained further
printing techniques including the use of U.V inks. Whilst with John Cleland I worked night
and day shifts and had full responsibility of running the press on numerous occasions.
April 1990 to October 1994: M.A.S Colour, Unit 1, Hawgood industrial Estate,42 Watts
Grove London E3.
At M.A.S I trained in the use of a Komori Sprint and lithrone B2 Presses, once trained I
initially was a No2 minder taking over the operation of the press and running jobs from
start to finish.
January 1988 to APRIL 1990:Colourmaster, Unit 1 Hamlet Industrial Estate, White post
Lane, London E9.
Colourmaster was my first Employer on leaving School where I started as an apprentice,
Loading machines with paper, “plating up” and learning about the process of Printing.
Colourmaster provided me with a good grounding and after 2 years I left to go to another
company, that provided me with a better opportunity of running a Printing Press.
