CODE OF CONDUCT
Class Situation
- Students are required to be on premises at 8:00 on a daily basis, as you are regarded as being late if
you come after this. Set up for a practical class must be done prior to this.
- You are required to attend school in full school uniform on a daily basis. NO jewellery except a wedding
band and 1 pair of stud earrings are allowed. The following points need to be adhered to:
 The students’ hair needs to be tied back and away from the facial area in a bun – hair
nets are compulsory
 Full make-up mustbe worn on a daily basis,including foundation, blusher, visible eye
make-up and lipstick;NOexceptions will be made and you will be regarded as absent
should you not meet the criteria
 Closed black court shoes with black stockings or socks must be worn
 Either black trousers or skirts may be worn as part of the uniform. In the case of
trousers, they may not trail and should be properly hemmed. Skirts may not be
cropped higher than the knees and court shoes and black stockings are compulsory
with this option.
 Nails must be short and clean without any varnish or overlays, with the exception of
the toe nails where nail enamel will be allowed
 Visible tattoos must be covered up
 During winter months, please ensure that your coat/and or jacket is black or the
prescribed purple similar to the uniform. This is applicable to scarves as well.
Repeated reprimands and requests from a lecturer or student council will result in a written
warning being issued – 3 warnings lead to a disciplinary
- You should have your full practical kit for the classes that are presented on that day, unless stated
otherwise by the lecturer. You should not rely on your practical partner to bring a kit, seeing as you are
also regarded as absent if you don’t have your equipment there. If the practical kit is not available,
without a VALID reason, you are marked as absent and will not be allowed to allocate the hours,
although you are allowed to attend class.
- If you miss partof a class, you are regarded as being absent for that lesson. Please take note that you
require 80% attendance for that subject in order to qualify for an examination.
- It is not the lecturer’s responsibility to make sure that you catch up with work missed due to absence
and it is not her responsibility to re-present the class whether for theory or practical sessions.
- Scheduled tests written during the term amount to 40% of your total mark. If you are absent without a
doctor’s letter, you will be given zero for that test. No tests will be rescheduled or written at a later date.
Should you presenta doctors letter for your days of absenteeism, you will be granted an absent for that
particular test mark. A doctors letter does not provide exemption for absence.
- Classes should be cleaned atthe end of the day’s lessons. You as a studentare required to ensure that
the following points are adhered to:
 Floors are sweptand mopped and that all equipment and trollies used are cleaned on a daily
basis with a sanitizing liquid.
 Ensure that ALL bins are emptied. Bins may not be used without binliners.
 Windows should be closed and that all wall sockets are switched off. Ensure that the
airconditioners are switched off.
 Kits will not be allowed to be stored in the class rooms – lockers are available for your use.
 The Spa room, foyer and Equipment room also need to be cleaned on a weekly basis by the
students
- Students are not allowed to eat/ and or drink in the classrooms; and chewing gum is prohibited
- The use of cellular phones is notallowed during class hours and prior arrangements need to be made
with the lecturer. Should this not be met, a written warning will be issued to the student.
- Your towelling should be clean and dry every day, including your headcaps etc.
- During teaching, case studies and examinations, a PROFESSIONAL nail brand must be used.
Case Study Situation
- Case Studies will be completed wearing full uniform as stated in the rules and according to examination
standards.Your kit, products and equipmentneed to be clean and hygienic and tools need to be placed
in the UV cabinet.
- Neither you or your client are not allowed to eat or drink in the classroom during your case studysession
- The classroom should be clean and tidy and after the session has been completed with all bins being
emptied and your workstation wiped down with a sanitizing liquid.
- Please ensure that you enter your treatments into your logbook, as you are responsible for keeping
track of your hours
- Case studybooks are not allowed to be taken home and all written work needs to be completed in class.
You will be granted time up to 17:00 in the afternoons, during which time you need to complete your
case study work under the supervision of a lecturer.
- The treatmentshould be completed under the supervision ofa qualified therapistat the salon or lecturer
at the college. No case studies are allowed to be done at home.
- The student and client should sign the case study. Illegitimate signatures will not be accepted and
correction fluid may not be used.
- All photographic evidence provided should be of proper size (spaces indicated) and should be of good
visible quality. These photos should be pasted.
- Case studies should be submitted on required dates, otherwise it will not be checked and you will omit
the opportunity to enter the relevant examination. Lecturers can be booked at a rate of N$ 375 per hour
of supervision when completing your case studies after the allocated hours.
- Plagiarism in the form of copying of written words or photographic evidence is not allowed and will not
be accepted as a valid case study.
- If ALL required case studies are not completed, admittance into an exam will not be granted, NO
exceptions will be made.
- On required submission dates ofcase studies,the documents should not be handed in later than 13:00
- You are required to wear full uniform for your case study treatments, whether in the salon or at school
as stated in the Student Manual and Code of Conduct.
- Examples ofthe case studies have been included and yours should be done in accordance to this. You
also have a soft copy of all the required documentation regarding formats etc. It is the students
responsibility to photocopy or print these as required as SHADONAI BEAUTY SCHOOL will not be
providing these services.
Practical Examinations
- You are required to be on premises 1 hour prior to the start of your examination, whether it be for
practical or theoretical examinations. Set up should be done the day before your practical examination;
2 hours maximum will be allowed for set-up
- Please ensure that your client does not have any contra-indications to any of the treatments to be
completed as this will result in immediate dismissal from the examination and subsequent failure.
- All relevant case studies and hours have to be submitted and approved before you are allowed to enter
an examination
- You are not allowed to talk to another studentbeing assessed, neither are you allowed to borrow tools,
equipment or products from a fellow student
- Your hygiene assessment is done prior and after the actual practical examination; should you fail to
attend a cleaning session,will notbe allocated any marks for this section. This also applies to cleaning
after the examining session.
- You are not allowed to leave the examining room during an assessment. If done so, you will
automatically forfeit the rest of that particular assessment
- You should design you own client card, and are not allowed to use one out of your file, or that of one of
the other students
- Lecturers are not available on the morning of the assessment in order to prevent a biased opinion
and/or assessment and to ensure that all learners are assessed equally.
- All tools, equipment and products will be assessed for cleanliness
- All products (except hairdressing products) should be decanted into pill dispensers and labelled
accordingly
Theory Examinations
- You are required to be on premises 1 hour prior to the start of your examination. You will only be
allowed to enter the room should you meet the following criteria:
 Full prescribed uniform as discussed; it is the invigilators prerogative to refuse entry into the
examination room
 Presentation of an examination pass
- You are not allowed to have pencil cases, books, notes or cellphones in the examining room. Your
stationary should be put into a clear plastic bag
- You are not allowed to eat/and or drink in an examining room
- Should you wish to use the bathroom during a session, the invigilator should accompany you to the
bathroom
- You are not allowed to enquire about your results prior to the issuing of official report cards
- You are not allowed to take home the question paper after the session.
General
It is the duty of each and every student/parent/guardian to familiarize themselves with the rules and regulations of
SHADONAI BEAUTY SCHOOL
- A student shall be considered guilty of misconduct if she contravenes or attempts to contravene any of
the rules and/or regulations of this institution.
- Students may not bring onto the premises of SHADONAI BEAUTY SCHOOL or be found to be under
the influence of alcohol.It is the prerogative of Managementto requesta random test should there be a
question regarding the students sobriety.
- Students may not be found in the possession of dependence forming drugs; supplying drugs or illegal
substances to other students or under the influence of drugs and/or illegal substances. Students are
subjectto random screenings and drug tests at the prerogative of Management of SHADONAI BEAUTY
SCHOOL.
- Students may not bring onto the premises of SHADONAI BEAUTY SCHOOL a firearm, weapons or
explosives of any kind.
- Students may not behave in a disorderly or improper manner on the premises of SHADONAI BEAUTY
SCHOOL or its immediate vicinity.
- Students may not steal, destroy, damage or misuse property belonging to SHADONAI BEAUTY
SCHOOL. Should the student be found guilty of such demeanours, she will be held liable for the total
cost of replacement and or repair of the damaged property. Students may not neglect to report any
incident or damage to SHADONAI BEAUTY SCHOOL.
- Students may not organize meetings on the premises of SHADONAI BEAUTY SCHOOL without prior
permission from Management. Political gatherings and demonstrations will not be allowed.
- Students may not behave in a threatening,abusive or improper manner towards a member of staff, the
managerial body and other students.
- Students may not affix or display banners, posters, pamphlets or placards on SHADONAI BEAUTY
SCHOOL premises without permission from the managerial body.
- Students may not knowingly make false or erroneous statements to any member of staff or public, or
intentionally provide false information of SHADONAI BEAUTY SCHOOL.
- Students may not reproduce material without the permission of the author. Plagiarism is strongly
prohibited no matter what the source.
- Students may not collect money or offer goods for sale on SHADONAI BEAUTY SCHOOL premises
without the prior permission of the managerial body.
- Students are required to comply to a lawful instruction or request from a staff member of SHADONAI
BEAUTY SCHOOL
- Students are required to attend all classes as scheduled.Students need a subsequent 80% attendance
for a specific subject in order to qualify for examination entrance.
- Students may not disrupt scheduled classes/lectures in any way or use defamatory language or signs
on the premises or towards another student. Victimization and intimidation is not allowed.
- Students may not make use of an altered or fraudulent medical certificate for any purposes.
- Students may not smoke on the premises of SHADONAI BEAUTY SCHOOL or in its immediate vicinity.
- Students are required to pay incurred fees. Failure to meet this will result in suspension of class
attendance until the amount has been settled. During this time of suspension, the student will not be
allowed to attend class, complete any tests or examinations and will be marked absent.
- Students will always be willing to help a fellow student and shall have respect for all religious, spiritual,
political and social views irrespective of race, colour, creed or gender.
- Lecturer consulting hours are on Mondays and Tuesdays from 15:00 till 16:30 depending on the
schedule of the lecturer. An appointment has to be made prior to the appointment.

Code of Conduct

Plagiarism is strongly prohibited no matter what the source. - Students may not collect money or offer goods for sale on SHADONAI BEAUTY SCHOOL premises without the prior permission of the managerial body. - Students are required to comply to a lawful instruction or request from a staff member of SHADONAI BEAUTY SCHOOL - Students are required to attend all classes as scheduled.Students need a subsequent 80% attendance for a specific subject in order to qualify for examination entrance. - Students may not disrupt scheduled classes/lectures in any way or use defamatory language or signs on the premises or towards another student. Victimization and intimidation is not allowed. - Students may not make use of an altered or fraudulent medical certificate for any purposes. - Students may not smoke on the premises of SHADONAI BEAUTY SCHOOL or in its immediate vicinity. - Students are required to pay incurred fees. Failure to meet this will result in suspension of class attendance until the amount has been settled. During this time of suspension, the student will not be allowed to attend class, complete any tests or examinations and will be marked absent. - Students will always be willing to help a fellow student and shall have respect for all religious, spiritual, political and social views irrespective of race, colour, creed or gender. - Lecturer consulting hours are on Mondays and Tuesdays from 15:00 till 16:30 depending on the schedule of the lecturer. An appointment has to be made prior to the appointment.
