Uses of Cocoon 111 in the Industrial World.
One of the founding uses of Cocoon was to encapsulate our military hardware upon return from the
war theatre. Today, Cocoon is the safe, predictable alternative to heat applied shrink wrapping.
Construction, Shipping, Marine Industry and any other precious cargo can be safely protected and

4. The Cocoon Story - The Beginning, the reality, the possibilities!
At the end of World War I in November of 1918 The U.S. military complexbegan
to come home. Warships, tanks and airplanes sat in storage. While inhindsight
technological advances would have made most of the equipment obsolete,what
was startling was the abject deterioration of the hardware.
Beginning in 1931 after Japanese aggression towards China, the United States
military complex began to rebuild. Between 1931 and 1939 a small majority ofthe
military complex was manufactured. With the bombing of Pearl Harboron
December 7, 1941 the Unites States went into hyper manufacturing ofarmament.
However, a lesson was learned. We needed to preserve the immenseinvestment
in the military complex. A compound was developed that we now knowas
Cocoon.
Cocoon is an extraordinary, liquid polymer coating that sprayscobweb-like
filaments that form a tough, waterproof, flexible, monolithic membrane thatwill
conform to any surface.
Cocoon coatings form a monolithic seal highly resistant to impact andabrasion.
Cocoon will maintain its integrity despite movement at pipe andduct
penetrations or expansion and contraction between walls and ceilings.Anywhere
there is an artifact that needs preserving, any structure that needs waterproof,
weatherproof , environmental adjutant protective sealing could all be cost
effectively and easily sealed and protected using ~ Cocoon.
In summary, when War broke out along the 38th parallel bisecting Korea onJune
25, 1950. The United States was able to "unwrap" all of the hardware thathad
been preserved with Cocoon. This afforded the United States and immensehead
start on war preparation and immeasurable cost savings.

Better livingthrough green chemistry has been integrated into every aspect of Andek

waterproof coatings manufacturers were using asbestos, lead, mercury, and many toxic chemicals

Waterproof coatings in their earliest forms hadvery high volatile organic compound (V.O.C.)

to get the coating to a viscosity low enough for application. Andek Corporation realized that

9. Cocoon coatings have their origin immediately following the
Second World War. Millions of square meters of United States
Naval warships and airplanes were successfully coated and
“mothballed” with Cocoon for future use.
Through continuous research & development, Cocoon’s
permanent waterproofing, gas seal and protective qualities
have been enhanced and refined.

10. COCOON is a revolutionary, high-quality, sprayable liquid
polymer coating. No other product has Cocoon’s unique
qualities. It sprays a cobweb-like filament that forms a
permanent, tough, seamless, waterproof, very durable coating
that can be applied to almost all materials. Cocoon creates a
waterproof and vapor-proof barrier that is able to stretch 2.5
times the original size, and return to its original form.

15. Cocoon uses: Mothballing
• Objects are protected with a weather-proof, tough and
seamless Cocoon ‘skin’, which is hermetically sealed against
moisture and dust. Within this “cocoon”, the relative humidity is
kept at approximately 40%, which prevents the formation of
mold and corrosion.
• Peel off “version”: Temporarily protects or conserves various
installations. Ability to be sprayed on and easily peeled off
without damaging the materials underneath.

16. Cocoon use: Operating Theatres, Clean
Rooms and Laboratories
• Cocoon creates a tough, flexible seal and is able to maintain
both positive and negative pressures to prevent cross
contamination.
• By using the unique Cocoon system the applicator can create
a hermetically sealed hygienic environment.
