coastal security , the central
government intensified
coastal security schemes

7. What Navy and Indian Coast
Guard ?
Navy : central security force –
with vast jurisdiction in the sea
beyond IMBL solely responsible
for coastal security
ICG : Central Security force
which is a supporting Agency for
coastal security.

coastal security ?
Navy Role :- Indian Navy is over all
responsible for coastal security. Navy
has vast jurisdiction in the sea – beyond
IMBL.
Indian Coast Guard Role:- It is also a
central security force which supports
patrolling in the sea beyond 12 Nm also
responsible for coastal Security.

Role
CSG is also responsible for
Coastal Security from the
Land Border upto 12 Nm –
operational responsibility is
5 Nm.
ICG and CSG are the
Coordinating Agencies to
Indian Navy.

Jurisdiction.
174 Crpc cases, missing of
boats & men in the sea.
Detection of sea produce –
smuggled items.i.e Sea horse,

37. How VVC Meetings conducted?
Unit officers/MPS SI has to
visit the village at least once
in a week and gather
volunteers and conduct VVC
meetings & Sports, conduct
awareness camps etc.

Each MPS has been issued
with 10 bicycles – by which men
visit the villages & gather
intelligence maintain rapport
with the fishing villages.

Men are issued with beat
tickets – to visit the fishing
villages and to interact
with village headmen &
