Talk You Round Till Dusk by Rebecca Tantony SampleBurning Eye
Every one of us is a complex and beautifully woven fabric of stories, and whether we tell them or not, there are no measuring tapes or weighing scales to speak of their worth. Talk You Round Till Dusk is a collection of tiny stories and big ideas celebrating the wonder of the moment. It’s about those journeys in a car driving across a desert, or walking from the bedroom to the kitchen, where we discover that what we have is enough. Stories so small they fit in the palm of a hand, yet carry the weight of the world with them.
Talk You Round Till Dusk is a collaboration between spoken word artist Rebecca Tantony and illustrator Anna Higgie. In a mix of flash-non-fiction, short stories, poetry and 16 full page colour illustrations, Rebecca and Anna take us on on a philosophical road trip from Bristol to Andalucía, Nicosia, India, San Francisco, Death Valley and Mexico.
The document discusses water behavior in unsaturated particulate materials at both the microscale and macroscale. At the microscale, interparticle forces are analyzed based on Laplace's equation for menisci between idealized spherical or flat particles. The small strain stiffness of drying specimens is measured and related to changes in interparticle forces. Microscale experiments assess menisci failure strains and regeneration rates. At the macroscale, the effective stress concept is extended to unsaturated soils based on Bishop's equation, though limitations are noted. The behavior depends on water content, pore size, surface tension, and other factors. Overall, the document aims to provide insight into unsaturated soil behavior, especially during the pendular stage, through particle-level studies

The document provides a history of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, beginning with its origins in 1947 when independent theatre companies performed alongside the inaugural Edinburgh International Festival. It grew exponentially over the decades, expanding from temporary venues to include over 3,000 shows annually. While the festival brought economic benefits to Edinburgh, it also increased costs for performers and residents. The Festival Fringe Society was formed in 1958 to provide organization and a central box office. By the 1990s, some venues began auditioning acts, threatening the festival's open access roots.

Do your coaches realize the impact they have on their players beyond just the game? Or the important role they play in your community? How to be a good coach goes beyond the skills of the game. This presentation highlights the unique position coaches play as leaders and teachers in sports organizations, offering coaching tips to support them. We define the concept of a “transformational” coach versus a “transactional” coach and explain how the former looks beyond the team statistics to focus on the spirit of the game and inspiring a positive lifestyle in individual athletes.

This document summarizes a scoping study on building biodiversity business. It finds that while protected area numbers and coverage are growing, more is needed to stem biodiversity loss. It analyzes sectors like agriculture, forestry, and ecotourism and finds opportunities in areas like conservation carbon, biodiversity offsets, sustainable biofuels, and biodiversity management services. It recommends developing business plans and pilot projects for these "best bets" to test concepts and kickstart the biodiversity market.
This document contains three poems from the book "Burning Eye" by James Bunting. The first poem, "Sarangni", is about two teenagers sharing blackberries and a romantic moment. The second poem, "Home", expresses the speaker's connection to their hometown through childhood memories. The third poem, "Write", addresses writing and telling stories as a way of working through past mistakes and relationships. It encourages the subject to write their story and share it when complete. The document provides copyright information for the book and poems.
The Ses High School is a pre-fabricated modular school located on the outskirts of Berga, Spain. It has a smaller playground than typical schools but allows students to play placidly. The school has 22 teachers and 220 students studying 13 subjects, utilizing digital whiteboards, computers, and some traditional books. Students' days begin at 8:15 AM and end at 2:30 PM, following a consistent daily schedule of study periods and a 15 minute recreation break.
The document discusses the benefits of exercise for mental health. Regular physical activity can help reduce anxiety and depression and improve mood and cognitive functioning. Exercise causes chemical changes in the brain that may help boost feelings of calmness, happiness and focus.
Geography is the study of the Earth and the relationships between it and people. It helps explain where places are located and how people live in different environments. There are several ways to represent the Earth, including globes which show the true spherical shape, and maps which depict locations on a flat surface. Maps are useful for navigation and showing information about places. Cartography is the technique used to create maps, with the word deriving from "chart," an earlier term for maps.
