Climate justice and tourism advocates for addressing the impacts of tourism on climate change through the UNFCCC process. Tourism contributes 5% of global emissions but this is underestimated when factoring aviation emissions. If left unchecked, tourism emissions could account for 25% of global emissions by 2050. Developing countries are most vulnerable to climate change but have contributed the least to the problem. NGOs are working to bring more critical voices on tourism and climate into the UNFCCC negotiations.
