IN THE EVENT OF AN EMERGENCY …
1. DON’T PANIC.
2. LISTEN TO INSTRUCTIONS QUIETLY.
3. FIRE ALARM
 Line up quickly on the outside facing the staircase.
 Move as a group toward the big tree on the field.
 Stay with the group and look out for everyone.
IN CASE OF EMERGENCY …
4. LOCK DOWN/CODE RED
 Listen quickly and carefully.
 Remain quiet with windows and doors closed.
 Hit the light switch.
 Think about something pleasant or read.
IN CASE OF EMERGENCY …
5. IF SOMEONE FALLS ILL
 Don’t panic – there is no need to scream.
 Someone stay with the person.
 Someone take the Health Office Pass – get the
nurse.
 Someone else call a teacher next door.
 Everyone else be responsible and help in whatever
way you can inside the room.
IF THE TEACHER IS ABSENT …
1. SOMEONE TAKE CHARGE
Get the key from the Head of Department in 229A.
Take attendance and leave it on my desk.
Discuss the agenda.
2. FOLLOW THE RULES AND PROCEDURES AND NO
ONE WILL VISIT.
3. STAY ON TASK
4. SPEAK IN A LOW TONE
5. STAY OFF THE CORRIDORS – grin and bear it.
If someone has a genuine emergency give them the
appropriate pass.
Make a note of who had to leave and for what reason.
6. DO NOT ENCOURAGE OTHERS TO COME IN.
IF THERE IS A SUBSTITUTE …
1. FOLLOW THE RULES AND PROCEDURES.
