This document provides an agenda for an English class that includes a vocabulary test on chapters 1-4 of a novel, a discussion on themes and concepts from the novel, an in-class writing assignment, and homework.
The in-class writing assignment has four parts: 1) Describe the climax of an event using short and long sentences; 2) Recall feelings and thoughts about the event; 3) Explore present perspective on the event; 4) Formulate a tentative thesis statement. Strategies are provided for each part to guide writing.
The homework includes reading more of the novel, another reading, and posting a draft introduction and description of an event that shows significance based on strategies from the in-class assignment
