A farmer named Lencho expects a good harvest from his corn field after rainfall, but a hailstorm destroys his crop, threatening his family's survival as their livelihood depends on the year's produce. Despite being disheartened, Lencho and his family have strong faith in God. Lencho writes a letter to God explaining his situation and asking for help, which he posts at the town post office. The postmaster is moved by Lencho's faith and collects donations from colleagues for the farmer, though he can only gather 70 pesos. When Lencho finds the money in a reply letter, he is angry that it is less than expected and writes another letter accusing post office employees of theft.
