Citigroup supported the community by training unemployed physically
challenged youth
Citigroup announced a new grant to the Bahrain Training Institute (BTI) which was dedicated to training the physi-
cally challenged youth of Bahrain.
The USD 35,000 grant by the Citigroup Foundation was utilised to finance the “Citibank Diploma in Banking for
the physically challenged”, a training programme which offered students high quality, lifelong vocational and en-
trepreneurship training in Banking and Finance to meet current and future employment requirements.
The training will cover teamwork skills, personal development, social skills and independent living skills that are
imperative to the physically challenged to help them gain a secure and permanent job.
Mr Mohammed Al Shroogi, Citigroup’s Division Head for Middle East, Egypt and Levant said, “Citigroup has
time and again, demonstrated its commitment towards helping the local community, especially to those who are dis-
advantaged.
“I believe that physically challenged youth, if provided with

Shroogi.
The Citigroup Foundation focuses its grants primarily in three
areas: financial education, educating the next generation, and
