SAMSON aims to improve efficiency and integrate activities around employer engagement in higher education by developing a scalable web services infrastructure to support data sharing between learners, employees, and organizations. This will create joined-up experiences for postgraduates on work placements, employers and employees interacting with universities, and continuing professional development for higher education staff and their relationships with businesses. The system will reuse existing working systems and transform data in real time using open standards and web services. It will engage users like human resource departments interested in enhancing processes to manage learning and development programs and willing to prototype and pilot the system.
