The Commercial School was founded in 1970 in Envigado, Colombia to provide commercial and technical education to the community. After 30 years, the school was located in a new large facility in the La Mina neighborhood, where it continues to offer intellectual formation and job training to residents of the low-income areas. The school has 5 floors, 36 classrooms, laboratories, and other facilities where it educates 1,500 students and employs 100 teachers and administrators. The commercial educative institution was founded in 1970 inthe Dorado neighborhood inEnvigado
with a main objective that was impulse the commercial and technical education.
30 yearsafter, it is located in a great seat in aneighborhood called “la Mina”. It helps the
communityfrom stratum one and two. TheComercial Schoolis much known in the town. It
wouldbecome in aregarding place for the comunityof this zone of Envigado, in a principal and
fundamental aspect: the intellectual formation for the job.

This is my school; here I am a teacher of physical education. The construction is very impressive.It
has5 floors, 36 rooms, anda teacher’s room,theprincipal’s room, coordination’s room, English’s
room,laboratories, an auditory anda coliseum.Here there are 1.500 students, 100 people between
teachers and administrators.
In the basement are: the restaurant and the elevator.On the first floor, it has an auditory,
acafeteria, a secretary’s officeand classrooms.
On the second floor are: the principal’s office(the principal isDr. Gustavo Ochoa,he’s a
Lawyer).andthe science’s laboratory.
On the third floor are: the coordination, teacher’s room, the library,the audiovisual room and
classrooms.
On the fourth floor are: the chemistry laboratory, the computer’s room and classrooms
On the fifth floor are: the computer’s room, the English laboratory, the specialization laboratory
(commercial) and classrooms.
In the coliseum, I work every day.
I like to talk about my school because I think that my partners are going to know the other face of
this neighborhood of Envigado. La Mina is a stigmatizedzone by the violence and the selling of
drugs whichgive the impression that people here are difficult and violent .I like that you see the
good people with desiresto success in spite of problems and restrictions of all order.
