2. The return of Jesus
to gather His
People from this
earth has been and
still is the grand
theme of the Bible.
The importance of
this event is
highlighted by the
fact that one verse
out of every eleven
in the New
Testament speaks
of this momentous
event.
3. This glorious event
is the ultimate goal
of all Bible
prophecies. This
goal is more
pronounce in the
book of Revelation
than any other
book of the Bible.
Each scene in this
prophetic drama
climaxes with the
coming of Christ.
4. Despite the well
pronounced nature of this
event in Bible
historiography, some
people have had several
misconceptions regarding
this event. Nonetheless,
Christ warned about this
sad possibility when He
spoke of His return in
Matthew 24 :4
5. KJV Matthew
24:4 And Jesus
answered and
said unto them,
Take heed that
no man deceive
you.
(Mat 24:4 KJV)
6. In light of this
warning, we will
carefully and
prayerfully look at
what Biblical
prophecies reveal
about the blessed
coming of Christ.
8. (Acts 1:9-11 KJV)
9 And when he had
spoken these things, while
they beheld, he was taken
up; and a cloud received
him out of their sight.
10 And while they looked
steadfastly toward heaven
as he went up, behold,
two men stood by them in
white apparel;
9. 11 Which also said,
Ye men of Galilee,
why stand ye gazing
up into heaven? this
same Jesus, which is
taken up from you
into heaven, shall so
come in like manner
as ye have seen him
go into heaven.
10. HIS COMING WILL BE:
a.Visible. The people
saw Him depart
(vv. 9-10)
b.In a cloud. He left in
a cloud (v. 9)
c.Bodily. He was flesh
and bones when He
left. “This same
Jesus” (v. 1:11).
11. John in his
revelation of
Jesus,
corroborates
that Christ
will return
with the
clouds and
all eyes shall
see Him
12. (Rev 1:7 KJV)
7 Behold, he cometh
with clouds; and
every eye shall see
him, and they also
which pierced him:
and all kindreds of
the earth shall wail
because of him.
Even so, Amen.
15.
(Psa 68:17 KJV)
The chariots of God
are twenty
thousand, even
thousands of angels:
the Lord is among
them, as in Sinai, in
the holy place.
(Psa 104:3 KJV)
Who layeth the
beams of his
chambers in the
waters: who maketh
the clouds his
chariot: who
walketh upon the
wings of the wind:
16. All the Angels
of Heaven will
come with Him
(Mat 25:31 KJV)
31 When the Son
of man shall
come in his glory,
and all the holy
angels with him,
then shall he sit
upon the throne
of his glory
18. (Mat 24:31 KJV)
31 And he shall send
his angels with a
great sound of a
trumpet, and they
shall gather together
his elect from the
four winds, from
one end of heaven to
the other.
19. How long will
it be from the
time Jesus and
the angels
leave Heaven
for this earth
until they are
back in Heaven
with God’s
raptured
saints?
20. KJV Revelation
8:1 And when
he had opened
the seventh
seal, there was
silence in
heaven about
the space of
half an hour.
(Rev 8:1 KJV)
21. Based on prophetic
day-year principle
(see Ezekiel 4:6), it is
believed that a “half
hour” would be
approximately 7 and
half days. Thus
Heaven will be silent
for about a week, the
length of time that
would be spent on
the round trip for the
rapture
23. Climatic
(Mat 24:27 KJV)
27 For as the
lightning
cometh out of
the east, and
shineth even
unto the west;
so shall also the
coming of the
Son of man be.
24. Audible
31 And he shall
send his angels
with a great
sound of a
trumpet, and
they shall gather
together his elect
from the four
winds, from one
end of heaven to
the other.
(Mat 24:31 KJV)
25. (1Th 4:16 KJV)
16 For the Lord
himself shall
descend from
heaven with a
shout, with the
voice of the
archangel, and with
the trump of God
26. Glorious
(Luke 9:26 KJV)
26 … when he
shall come in
his own glory,
and in his
Father's, and
of the holy
angels.
27. (Psa 50:3 KJV)
3 Our God shall
come, and shall not
keep silence: a fire
shall devour before
him, and it shall be
very tempestuous
round about him.
28. Literal
(Acts 1:11 KJV)
11 … this same
Jesus, which is
taken up from
you into
heaven, shall so
come in like
manner as ye
have seen him
go into heaven.
29. Visible
(Rev 1:7 KJV)
7 Behold, he
cometh with
clouds; and every
eye shall see him,
and they also which
pierced him: and
all kindreds of the
earth shall wail
because of him.
Even so, Amen.
30. What will
happen to the
righteous
dead and the
righteous
living at the
second
coming?
31. The Righteous Dead
(1Cor 15:52 KJV)
… the dead shall be
RAISED
INCORRUPTIBLE,
and we shall be
CHANGED.
32. The Righteous
Living
(1Th 4:17 KJV)
17 Then we
which are alive
and remain shall
be CAUGHT UP
TOGETHER with
them in the
CLOUDS, to
meet the Lord in
the air…
33. The Righteous
Living
(1Co 15:53 KJV)
For this
CORRUPTIBLE
must put on
INCORRUPTION,
and this MORTAL
must put on
IMMORTALITY.
35. (Mat 24:23-26 KJV)
23 Then if any man shall
say unto you, Lo, here is
Christ, or there; believe it
not.
24 For there shall arise
false Christs, and false
prophets, and shall shew
great signs and wonders;
insomuch that, if it were
possible, they shall
deceive the very elect.
36. 25 Behold, I have told
you before.
26 Wherefore if they
shall say unto you,
Behold, he is in the
desert; go not forth:
behold, he is in the
secret chambers;
believe it not.
38. Revelation 6:16.
And said to the mountains
and rocks, FALL on us, and
hide us from the face of
him that sitteth on the
throne, and from the wrath
of the Lamb:
17. For the great day of his
wrath is come; and who
shall be able to stand?
39. 2 Thessalonians 2:8.
And then shall that Wicked
be revealed, whom the Lord
shall consume with the spirit
of his mouth, and shall
destroy with the brightness
of his coming:
9. Even him, whose coming
is after the working of Satan
with all power and signs and
lying wonders,
40. 10. And with all
deceivableness of
unrighteousness in
them that perish;
because they
received not the
love of the truth,
that they might be
saved.
42. John 14:3.
And if I go and
prepare a place
for you, I will
come again, and
RECEIVE you
unto myself; that
where I am, there
ye may be also.
43. Exciting things to
look forward to:
a. Reunion with loved
ones (1 Thess 4:16-18)
b. The blind will see, the
dumb will speak and
sing, the lame will
walk again (Isaiah
35:4-6)
c. No more sorrow, pain
or tears (Revelation
21:4)
45. Matthew 24:36.
But of that day
and hour
knoweth no
man, no, not the
angels of
heaven, but my
Father only.
46. Although we don’t know the exact day of
Jesus’ return, with the events seen in the
world, we know His coming is NEAR,
even at the DOOR
47. Matthew Writes:
Matthew 24:32. Now
learn a parable of the fig
tree; When his branch is
yet tender, and putteth
forth leaves, ye know
that summer is nigh:
33. So likewise ye, when
ye shall see all these
things, know that it is
near, even at the doors.
49. Signs in the
Natural World
(Mat 24:7 KJV)
For nation shall
rise against
nation, and
kingdom against
kingdom: and
there shall be
famines, and
pestilences, and
earthquakes, in
divers places.
50. 12 (Rev 6:12 KJV)
And I beheld when
he had opened the
sixth seal, and, lo,
there was a great
EARTHQUAKE;
and the SUN
became black as
sackcloth of hair,
and the MOON
became as blood
51. Signs in the
Religious World
a.Preaching of
the gospel:
In recent world
events, there is a
high increase in
the preaching of
the gospel. This is
a sign of the soon
return of Christ.
52. (Mat 24:14 KJV)
14 And this
gospel of the
kingdom shall
be preached in
all the world for
a witness unto
all nations; and
then shall the
end come.
53. b. Religious
Decline:
The widespread of
the gospel does not
mean a massive
growth in genuine
Christianity.
Instead, the
scripture predict a
decline in true
spirituality toward
the end of time.
54. (Mat 24:12 KJV)
And because
iniquity shall
abound, the
love of many
shall wax cold.
55. Decline of
Religious Freedom
(Rev 13:15 KJV)
15 And he had
power to give life
unto the image of
the beast, that the
image of the beast
should both speak,
and cause that as
many as would not
worship the image
of the beast should
be killed.
56. (Rev 13:17 KJV)
17 And that no
man might buy
or sell, save he
that had the
mark, or the
name of the
beast, or the
number of his
name.
