To whom itmay concern:
I strongly recommend that you bringChristopher Peterson onto your team if you have the opportunity.
Chris Peterson worked for me at Trek Connect, Inc.,for ten years.
I hired Chris as a Design Engineer in 2003. He reported directly to me (I was General Manager) until 2010,and then he
reported to Trek Connect's Director of Engineering (who reported to me) until Chris leftTrek Connect in 2013.
Trek Connect operates primarily in the defense contractingarena, designingand manufacturingelectronic and fiber optic
cables, wireharnesses, and electronic assemblies, for widevariety of military platforms:shipboard, aerospace, and land-
based. Trek Connect is registered to AS9100C and utilizes lean enterpriseprinciples in all aspects of its business, including
engineering.
Chris' responsibilitiesincluded all aspects of engineeringproject management: design, development, costing, prototyping,
testing, manufacturingengineering, and documentation. His work involved significantcustomer development and
communication,as well as daily interactionswith other Trek Connect staff at all levels in mostdisciplines. In addition,
Chris took on additional responsibilities,includingAS9100C internal auditing, participation in several interdepartmental
lean process improvement initiatives, and the trainingand mentoring of new engineering staff.
Chris is an excellentengineer. From the outset, he demonstrated outstandingskillsin mechanical design engineering,
contributingsignificantnewdesigns and improvingexistingproducts for aerospaceand shipboard systems. In the first
year, Chris quickly learned the world of interconnects, expandinghis electrical and fiber optic engineeringexpertise,
allowinghimto take on a wider range of design projects. He quickly learned the world of military specificationsand the
often confoundingrequirements of defense contracting - his natural calmand patientmanner was an importantresource
in dealingwith the latter.
Chris was a finedraftsman when he started with the company and continued to excel throughout his time at the company,
working with both AutoCad and Pro-E (now Creo) at Trek Connect.
Chris was productiveand successful whether working on an individual assignmentor as a project team leader or member.
He is a solid communicator, with mature and appropriateinterpersonal skills, terrificcustomer servicesensibility, and the
paramount ability to work collegially and professionally with other staff. His written communication is clear and his
project documentation exemplary. He can develop a casefor his pointof view or recommendation and present itin a
positiveand informativemanner. He is patient,well-spoken, possesses a keen wit, and is engaged in the world.
Throughout the ten years we worked together, Chris's work was creative,on-point, meticulous, and punctual. Chris's
insights and recommendations often resulted in performance improvements and costreductions for both the customer
and Trek Connect. He was a key factor in the successful growth of Trek Connect duringthat decade.
Hire himif you get the chance.
Yours truly,
Harold M. Heft
