We celebrate Christmas Day on the
25th of December. We also
celebrate Christmas Eve on the 24th
and Boxing Day on the 26th of
December.
Children (and adults!) have
advent calendars in December.
We open them everyday. Most
advent calendars have chocolates
inside.
Christmas is an important holiday
in the United Kingdom. Most
people do not work on Christmas
Day. A lot of people spend
Christmas with their families.
I spend Christmas with my family.

This is my grandmother. She is
called Anne.
This is a
Christmas tree.
We decorate
our tree with
ornaments and
lights. We put
our presents
under the tree.
Houses and streets are decorated
with lights. This photo is of the lights
in Glasgow this year.

This is a house in England which
is covered in many Christmas
lights.
This photo is of
my house (and
my
grandmother!)
last year. What
can you see?
We decorate our front door with a
wreath. This wreath is made of holly.
Santa Claus and his reindeer
On Christmas Eve, the 24th of December,
Santa Claus visits every child in the UK.
He leaves them presents if they are
good. If they are bad, he leaves them a
lump of coal.
Christmas Day
• In the morning,
  we sit in our
  living room and
  open all our
  presents.
This is me on Christmas day a long
            time ago!
In the afternoon
         • In the afternoon,
           we have our
           Christmas dinner.
         • At 3pm on
           Christmas day, on
           television the
           Queen gives a
           speech to the
           country.
Christmas Dinner
• For Christmas
  dinner, we eat
  turkey, stuffing,
  potatoes, carrots,
  peas and cranberry
  sauce.
• Mince pies are a
  traditional
  Christmas food.
Christmas Dinner
• At the table, we pull
  Christmas crackers.
  Crackers have a joke,
  a paper hat and a
  toy inside. We wear
  our hats at the table
  and read out the
  jokes.
After Christmas dinner
• After we eat our
  Christmas dinner,
  we watch
  television
  programmes or
  films.
• We also like to
  play games, like
  charades.
Boxing Day
• On Boxing Day, my family comes to my house.
• My aunt, uncle and cousin come from
  Glasgow to see us.
