Our words can be words of life or words of destruction. This object Lesson for youth reminds us that the words we say have influence beyond just the moment. Also make a great Children's sermon.
A Bíblia menciona a palavra "alma" 852 vezes.

God's sovereignty is evident in every aspect of life. Redemption is the overarching purpose of divine sovereignty. Genesis 31 reveals God's hand and heart in Jacob's relationship with Laban, a wiley, manipulative uncle, father-in-law, employer. This chapter is filled with lots of practical, relevant lessons in God's redemption for all of us.

Use this creative object lesson as a surprising illustration to kids that God looks at our heart, not our appearances. It can be used on any occasion or as a children's sermon, but with a reference to tombs, and masks it also serves as a fun lesson for an alternative to Halloween.
Homily: 32nd Sunday in Ordinary Time Cycle A 2017James Knipper
The Parable of the Ten Virgins is enriched with a number of metaphorical images designed to drive home the message of always being prepared. But was does that mean to you and me? What does that look like? And tapping into one of today’s Gospel metaphors, what is the oil that we need to be placing in our lamps?
Rather than focusing on End Time what would happen to our lives if we spent that energy living in Now Time, This Time, Present and Presence? See what I mean and check it out….

Our little Church is using a Chronological Bible Reading Schedule by Skip Andrews. It can be found here: http://www.churchofchristduluthga.org/
Each Sunday a lesson is given from some of that week's reading. This lesson covers June 8-14.
Over the past three weeks of Advent we have called to stay awake, to be alert, all the while listening and waiting and making straight our paths. So, what has your Advent been like during these times of the pandemic? Outside of marking the time by lighting the Advent candles each week, what, perhaps have you been seeing, feeling or doing differently this year?
Faced with all the challenges that have been brought upon us this past year, today’s Gospel gives us three points which may lead us to a better understanding of what we are called to do in our final days of Advent…and beyond.

Gary Vaynerchuk talks about Content & Social MediaKen Sapp
Great talk and Q&A from Gary Vaynerchuk at National Achiever's Congress 2019 in Singapore... Lots of takeaways but these are powerful: "Eliminate friction between your message and your customer" and "The INTENT of content is the VARIABLE of Success." So does your message create friction? What is the intent of your content? Are you real and adding value or is your content just an "ask" wrapped in content?
Thanksgiving Party Activity - Looking BackKen Sapp
Thanksgiving is an American Holiday where people set aside a day to remember what God has done for them over the past one year and praise Him and give Him thanks for the works He has done in their lives. This game plays on the idea of looking forward yet being able to recognize and picture what is behind. It serves as a metaphor for us, also looking forward to the future, but taking some time to picture and recognize what God has done in the past."
Although gummy bears were invented by German Candy maker Hans Reigel in 1922, the gummy worm is a relatively recent concept. The Gummy bear wasn’t shipped to America until around 1981 and then an American candy company extended the idea to gummy worms to give kids something fun to eat and to shock their parents. Gummy worms are one of the most popular gummy candies around. Use these games with gummy worms as an object lesson to talk about Jesus’ call to his disciples to become fishers of men.
Even if you don’t want to be involved with Halloween, you’ll want to grab at least one of those plastic or paper Halloween skeletons for this object lesson / game.
Halloween Party Activity - Pumpkin PicassoKen Sapp
How well can you draw the Halloween Jack-o-Lantern? Here is a great youth game idea for the Halloween season. You can use it to bring a fresh spiritual meaning to the holiday and allow your youth to apply it to seeking God’s plan and direction for their lives. You could even relate it to a talk about not conforming to the patterns of the world. Be creative and have a great week! And for those completely adverse to anything associated with Halloween, see the alternative variation under the “preparation” section.

In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.

At the cross, he had a sign
placed over his head as
“King of the Jews.” Jesus
was in the very nature God,
but he wasn’t concerned
with titles. He did not
consider equality with God
something to be grasped.
Instead he took the nature
of a servant, being made in
human likeness. He
emptied himself made
himself nothing.

Jesus was tempted by
Satan after 40 days in the
desert with the very same
things. But Jesus was not
attached to these things.
His focus was on doing the
will of God. He came to
earth with a purpose. That
purpose was yours and my
redemption.

The Tea
1. Carefully open the tea
bag without tearing it.
Display the bag of tea leaves
to the children.
2. Explain: Tea looks like dirt.
If you put it in water the
water will be changed to the
color of the tea. It will no
longer be clear and pure.
3. Demonstrate by dropping
a bit of tea into the glass of
hot water and stirring it
around.

4. Explain: We are all like
this tea bag in that we are
born with dirt in our lives.
We are not pure. The Bible
calls this dirt, this impurity,
sin. We need help from God
to remove the sin from our
lives. That’s exactly why
Jesus came – to help us
remove the sin from our
lives.

The Tea Bag
1. Carefully open up the tea
bag completely. It will open
into a long tube that you can
stand on the second saucer.
2. Explain: When Jesus
removes the sin from our
lives we can stand pure and
proud in the sight of God. We
will become a light for God.

among the perverse
generation we will shine as
lights in the world.

Lights for Christ
1. Light the bag from the top
and allow it to burn.
2. Explain: As you shine for
Jesus you shall become closer
to God in your Christian walk,
and one day your soul shall
join him for eternal life. Just as
Christ was resurrected and
went to be with the Father,
we will also rise up to be with
him. We will be exalted and
raised with him.

it burns.

Summary
That’s the story of Easter. Jesus
set aside his titles and emptied
himself and became one of us.
He came with a purpose, to cut
us free from the things of the
world. He was pierced for us.
And when we ask his
forgiveness, he will take away
the dirt from our lives and make
us pure. We will can stand strong
and become his light to the
world. Just as he was risen we
will also rise to be with him.
