EMPLOYMENT
HISTORY
Wildlife Technician
REDWOOD SCIENCE LAB
A post-baccalaureate appointment with the U.S Forest
Service Research Participation Program under the
mentorship of Ted Weller. Acted as crew leader and
conducted field surveys collecting Pacific Northwest
bat species using mist nets. Identified bats to the
species level, administered PIT tags, collected
biological samples, sampled bats for White Nose
syndrome, took and recorded biometric data,
collected acoustic data. Input recorded data into the
computer database and analyzed acoustic data to
determine bat species using SonoBat.
Independent Contractor
WILDLIFE VETERINARY CONSULTING
April 2016-November 2016
ARCATA, CA
September 2015- April 2016
ARCATA, CA
Participated in the research of migratory habits of hoary bats
through Humboldt County by setting up mist nets.
Administered PIT tags, collected fur and tissue samples,
prepared vials for samples, determined biometrics, and
recorded data.
Sub-Contractor
ECO-ASCENSION RESEARCH AND CONSULTING
July 2015 – March 2016
KLAMATH, CA
Collected bat and bird acoustic data from a bat box. Input the
information and determined species of bats using SonoBat program.

VOLUNTEER
EXPERIENCE
Beach Surveyor
MARINE MAMMAL EDUCATION AND RESEARCH
PROGRAM
Conducted beach surveys to locate deceased
marine mammals and sea birds. Collected tissue
and fur samples from dead marine mammals and
recorded biometrics and other information on data
sheets.
Research Assistant
REDWOOD SCIENCE LAB
Participated in different research projects, led by
Humboldt State University faculty and graduate
students and the Redwood Science Laboratory,
with a focus on hoary and silver haired bats. Set
up the equipment such as triple high and single
high mist nets, administered PIT tags, extracted
tissue samples, prepared sample vials, determined
biometrics, and recorded data. Monitored and
assessed the overall health of the bats. Prepared
hair samples for stable isotope analysis, entered
field data into database, used SonoBat to
determine species of acoustic calls.
Autopsy Assistant
HUMBOLDT COUNTY CORONER’S OFFICE
Assisted with data recording during autopsies.
Prepared and sterilized autopsy equipment.
Fin Clipper
MAD RIVER HATCHERY
Captured and released fish from pens,
successfully sedated steelhead salmon, handled
juvenile fish, and carefully clipped adipose fin;
this contributed to salmon conservation attempts
of the Humboldt County area.
Animal Care
MARINE MAMMAL CENTER
Disinfected cages for injured or sick pinnipeds
as well as prepared and provided food.
Restrained seals and sea lions for tube feeding.
Monitored seals and sea lions during
rehabilitation.
