This document describes a study that tested the effectiveness of a video educational tool about HPV and the HPV vaccine compared to a pamphlet among adolescents. The study randomized 65 patients ages 11-17 at two clinic locations to view either a video produced by Noble Medical LLC or a pamphlet. Results showed the video was slightly more effective at informing patients about HPV and increasing recommendation and uptake of the HPV vaccine, with more patients in the video group receiving the first dose. The video may be more effective for patients hesitant about the vaccine. Further interventions targeting adolescents could increase vaccination rates.
