Clarksville Cat Rescue’s vision is to end the suffering of cats that are abandoned and homeless in our communities by rescuing, spaying and neutering, providing needed medical care, and helping to find every adoptable cat a loving, permanent home. We also strive to provide a better life for feral cats through sterilization, and by feeding and monitoring feral colonies.
Stephanie Taunton says whether it is a human or an animal, every creature on this planet deserve to live a happy and healthy life. And to make to possible, most people prefer in adopting a pet instead of buying it. When you adopt, you save a life of a loving animal by making him part of your family.

I am Rocky – a hound/pit bull mix pup, only one year old. I came into the shelter as a stray and have been living here for about a month. I am very sensitive and a bit shy so it takes me a little while to warm up to people but once I do I am a total sweetheart.

Teaching your dog basic obedience like sit, wait and coming back when called gives them the freedom to do the things they like to do, like running off lead and coming with you to meet friends and family, while being safe and under control.

Whether your dog needs a little grooming or a lot, our stock
of pet grooming products make it easy for you and enjoyable
for your pet! Usually this is on behalf of the hard working
shelter volunteers, and foster care givers, or it is because the
dog has already lived in a home and has gotten to know the
household rules like using the bathroom outside, or not
jumping onto furniture.
Think about it: you have to fill the tub, get a reluctant dog out
of hiding, commence with the bath (including the soak, suds, scrub and rinse), dry your wet dog and,
finally, clean up. And, if your dog has a beautiful long-flowing coat, a good complete combing and
brushing will also be necessary.

He used to try to run away when we met other dogs on walks, but now he just stands behind the
walker (no longer me since I'm unable) and observes. It probably would have helped if we had
adopted another dog to teach Bubba, or already had another one when he was adopted, but he's a
senior now and I'm not worried about "fixing" him. She plays very well with all other dogs, even
aggressive small breeds like Chihuahuas...she just loves to play and tolerates nips and yaps without
any aggression, even from total strangers. Some are designed with a blunt tip to prevent any injuries
due to the dog moving around.
The remaining contact hours can be spent playing with your dog or simply interacting with him in
the home. In order to prevent mistakes from happening, it is important to both diligently supervise
your dog while it is indoors and take it frequently outdoors. Regular socialisation and training, from
as early as eight weeks of age, is an important factor in raising a well-behaved and socially
acceptable dog. Regular play-times, walks, short training sessions, quiet ‘quality time' and
mentally stimulating toys can keep your dog busy and out of mischief. I especially love when she
send me a pic of Charlie having a blast at the dog park!
