While the JIRA and Confluence OnDemand are similar in functionality to the installed versions, there are some important differences. Considerations include total cost comparison, Google apps integration, application response time, the migration process and pitfalls such as data encryption, plugin use, and integration with in-house authentication. Come learn how and why Healthonomy migrated to Atlassian OnDemand versions of JIRA, Confluence, and FishEye (SVN) after 2 years of self-hosting.
Docker Container Lifecycles, Problem or Opportunity? by Baruch Sadogursky, JFrogDocker, Inc.
Docker is hot. However, as Docker container use spreads into more mature production pipelines, there can be issues about control of Docker images to ensure they are production-ready. Is a promotion-based model appropriate to control and track the flow of Docker images from development to production? We will demonstrate how to implement a promotion model for docker images, and then show how to distribute them to any kind of consumer, being it a customer or a data center.
This is an introduction to the Active Objects plugin given at AtlasCamp 2010 [1]. It addresses general persistence solutions in Atlassian current and to come in the form of Active Objects.

Welcome to DevOps, where we are all about breaking down walls. But, we've created a private dialect, full of familiar words with unfamiliar meanings, and in-jokes upon in-jokes. Many newcomers wish there was a glossary for the movement. Time to be inclusive!
In this fun session, we'll go over some of the more unintuitive terms (being a goat is a good thing!) and the backstories behind them. We'll have an extended audience participation segment in which you can ask about words you've heard.

Academic research often has a reputation of being insular and seldom being used in the real world. At HashiCorp, we've had a long tradition of basing our tools and products on academic research. We look at research for the initial design of products, and for ongoing development of new features. Our industrial research group, HashiCorp Research, has even published novel work. In this talk we cover why we care, how we incorporate research, and what has been particularly useful for us.

ISTA 2019 - Migrating data-intensive microservices from Python to GoNikolay Stoitsev
In order for our systems to scale continuously and be resilient, they need to be constantly evolving. In this talk, I’m going to tell the store of how my team migrated a data-intensive microservice from Python to Go. First, we are going to start with the rationale behind the migration. Then we are going to go over the Python and Go tech stacks that we use. Last but not least, I’m also going to share our approach for migrating the service while running in production, adding new features and making sure there are no regressions.

Lean start-ups build quickly, release frequently, evaluate accurately and iterate rapidly. This presentation discusses how start-ups can use cloud computing to accelerate their iterations to build wonderful new products for their customers.
This presentation is about Pharo status and why it is important to support our community. I presented these slides at FAST smalltalks 2014, Cordoba, Argentina.

Presentation used to give an introduction to Regular Expression in JavaScript at MercadoLibre Inc. Spanish: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=skG03rdOhpo
MercadoLibre is every day less requested with the IE7 browser. So in a few months we are going to leave giving support for that specific browser. Now, with a little previous analysis we are able to use the html5shiv tool. I used this slides to explain, share and reflect about how is and works the new HTML5 outline.
This was based on http://www.slideshare.net/hmammana/semantic-markup-creating-outline.
This presentation given for developers at Truelogic Software Solutions is about CSS and layouting. It is explained all the ways to re-position an element in the screen.
This presentation was given to the desingers team at MercadoLibre. The outline is working different between HTML4 & HTML5. Understanding the different ways of giving semantics to the content is the goal.
