Sub: Spurious allocation of Mechanical Engineering seats at NIT Patna
The reporting of second round allotted candidates got over at 5 pm on 18th
July,2013. During
the process of reconciliation of the database at around 9 pm on the same day, a temporary
glitch occurred in the computation process. For a brief period, a spurious allocation of seats
at NIT Patna in Mechanical Engg. Branch was made to over one lakh candidates.
The error was detected in an hour and corrected. But during this one hour period some
students had downloaded the spurious allotment letter. Some of them have reported to RCs
this morning only to discover that their names are not in the database. CSAB sincerely
regrets this mix up and I apologize to every one for the hardship you have taken.
