- 1. National Institute of Technology Rourkela Prof. Sunil Kr Sarangi Director & Chairman, CSAB-2013 Date: July 19, 2013. Sub: Confusion regarding dates for ”Reporting to Institutes”. Two rounds of normal counselling are now over and every successful candidate has reported to an RC and obtained his final (almost) seat allotment. One round of upgradation is due today and some upgradation is expected. In the mean time, institute reporting date has been announced to be 20th to 22nd July, 2013. I am receiving queries from parents on the tight time schedule for reporting and a fear that “unless one reports to the Institute within these 3 days, he will lose his seat”. This message from me is only to confirm that there is no such danger. A seat, now allotted, is yours for ever. It will never be given to another candidate. There is no time limit from CSAB side on when you can report to your institute. Please check with your institute and follow their advice. Your seat will never be refused to you; but unless you join early you will lose attendance and, depending on the rules of your institute, you may be debarred from exams. Therefore, please join your institute as early as possible, but do not panic if you cannot make it in 3 days. If you report during announced 3 days, i.e. between 20th - 22nd July 2013, the admission office will be 100% functional and your process of joining will be easier. All institutes are requested to also abide by the above spirit and permit students to join within a reasonable period (say 1, week) of the starting of classes.
