As of January 2015, 19,471 students in Wisconsin were homeless, lacking fixed housing. In the same period, 1,884 students in CESA 7 region were homeless, a significant increase from 1,453 in 2003-2004. Homeless is defined as lacking regular housing and includes temporary living in shelters, abandoned buildings, motels, cars or living with others due to lost housing or financial hardship.
