- 2. About Us We’re along established tin can manufacturer base in the thriving port city of Liverpool. We work with some of the biggest companies in Europe providing tins for Premium Coffees, Butter Ghee, Paints, Varnishes, Home Brewed Ales and much more. We manufacture cans for all purposes, in many sizes and quantities. We’re also one of the leading manufacturers of Aerosol cans in the UK producing in excess of 20m cans per year. Central Tin Containers is known for industry leading delivery times, ultra-competitive pricing and outstanding can quality. We strive to build relationships that go beyond supplier and customer to add value to each respective business. We’re expanding rapidly at the moment with the focus on building long term partnerships across Europe. Our History Original manufacturing facility started in Fleet St Liverpool 1. Earliest contracts to make pepper tin containers for the Government during the Crimean War 1850’s. In 1942 Edward Billington & Son bought the company for a grand sum of £700 and this signalled the start of Central Tin at the old Wilbraham St site. Liverpool City Centre David Hunt, then the Managing Director, initiated an MBO when Billington Group looked to divest its non-core manufacturing facilities. By summer of 2003 new partners restructured the company In 2006 £600,000 was committed to a new Aerosol Can Line. We have a dedicated in-house UV print line that gives us tremendous flexibility and improved quality control. We have five dedicated production lines for Aerosol, Food, Paint and Generic Cans. Our shareholders, who are actively involved in the business, have extensive experience in all areas of the packaging market. This includes design, production, printing, can making, filling and closing equipment. We are active members of The Metal Packaging Manufacturers Association (MPMA) with our Managing Director chairing the General Line Sector Business Committee. We offer support and guidance in product development, design and sealing.
