final drive.
1. Remove 34 bolts (1) that hold the planetary carrier to the final drive carrier.

3. Install three 1/2 inch - 13 NC forcing screws (2) in planetary carrier (3). Tighten the forcing
screws evenly until the planetary carrier is against the bolts.

3. Install Tooling (D) in order to hold the hub and gear in place in the final drive.

Note: Use a driver that is nearly the same diameter as the outside diameter of the metal seal
case. Do not use excessive force on a fully seated seal. Excessive force may deform the seal
case. Deforming the seal case may cause the seal to leak.
4. Use Tooling (G) and install seal (15) in the hub with the lip of the seal toward the inside, as
shown.
5. Install 20 pins (14) in the hub.

Note: The drain plug on the planetary carrier must be aligned with the small O-ring seal in

14. Align the planetary carrier gears with the gear in the final drive.
15. Install three bolts in order to hold the planetary carriers in position when Tooling (A) is
removed.
16. Remove Tooling (A) and (B) .

N·m (775 ± 110 lb ft).

3. Remove five bolts (2) from the sprocket segments.

4. Fasten a suitable lifting device to Tooling (A) and install Tooling (A) on final drive (3).
Adjust two bolts (4) until the head of bolts (4) are against final drive (3).

NOTICE
Do not remove three bolts (5) that hold the steering clutch and brake to
the frame.
5. Remove bolts (7) that hold the final drive, the steering clutch, and the brake to the frame.
6. Remove three bolts (6) that hold the final drive to the steering clutch and brake. Remove the
final drive from the machine. The weight of the final drive is approximately 2211 kg
(4874 lb).
