The valve spring keepers can be thrown from the valve when the valve
spring compressor is released. Ensure that the valve spring keepers are
properly installed on the valve stem. To help prevent personal injury,
keep away from the front of the valve spring keepers and valve springs
during the installation of the valves.
6. Carefully remove Tooling (A).

1. Install the O-ring seal on oil cooler bonnet (6). Apply Tooling (A) to the O-ring seal. Install
the integral seal on oil cooler bonnet (6). Position the oil cooler bonnet on the water pump
and install bolts (4).
2. Install the O-ring seals on the engine oil filter base. Apply Tooling (A) on the O-ring seal.
3. Position core assembly (3). Install bolts (5).
4. Install the O-ring seal on outlet bonnet (2). Apply Tooling (A) to the O-ring seal. Install the
integral seal on oil cooler bonnet (2). Position outlet bonnet (2) on core assembly (3) and
install bolts (1).
5. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System
Coolant - Change".

Engine Oil Pump - Remove

Removal Procedure
Start By:
a. Remove the engine oil pan. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Engine Oil Pan - Remove
and Install".
NOTICE
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.
Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

1. Remove bolts (3). Remove tube assembly (1). Remove the O-ring seal from tube assembly
(1).
2. Remove bolt (6) and the washer.
3. Remove bolts (2). Remove suction bell assembly (8) and tube assembly (7). Remove the O-
ring seal from tube assembly (7).
4. Remove bolts (4) and remove engine oil pump (5) from the cylinder block.
Note: It is not necessary to remove plate (9) in order to remove the engine oil pump.
