Bank Valve (Loader) - Disassemble

Disassembly Procedure
Start By:
a. Remove the bank valve for the loader. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Bank Valve
(Loader) - Remove".
NOTICE
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during
performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair
of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers
before opening any compartment or disassembling any component
containing fluids.
Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop
Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain
fluids on Caterpillar products.
Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
NOTICE
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.
Contamination of the hydraulic system with foreign material will
reduce the service life of the hydraulic system components.

To prevent contaminants from entering the hydraulic system, always
plug or cap the lines, fittings, or hoses as they are disconnected. Cover
any disassembled components and clean them properly before
assembly.
Clean the hydraulic system properly after any major component
exchange or especially after a component failure, to remove any
contamination.
Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the disassembly procedure, the exterior of the
component should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal
mechanism.
Note: Put identification marks on all of the components of the control valve bank as the
components are being removed. All of the parts must be reinstalled in the part's original location.
Do not damage any of the internal parts during the removal. Keep all of the internal parts of the
valve clean and lubricated.

1. Remove nuts (1) and the washers.

2. Separate cover (2) from auxiliary valve (3).
3. Remove plug (4).
4. Remove O-ring seal (5) from plug (4).
5. Remove shims (6) from studs (7).
6. Slide auxiliary valve (3) from studs (7).

7. Remove O-ring seals (8), (9), (10), and (11) from the auxiliary valve.
8. Remove the following items from cartridge assembly (12): nut (15), washer (14) and coil
assembly (13).
9. Remove cartridge assembly (12).
10. Remove O-ring seals (16) from cartridge assembly (12).

11. Remove allen head screws (17) and cover (18).
12. Remove O-ring seals (19) from cover (18).
13. Repeat Steps 8 through 12 for the other cover.
14. Remove valve group (20).

15. Remove the following items from valve group (20): O-ring seal (21), seal (22) and O-ring
seal (23).
Personal injury can result from being struck by parts propelled by a
released spring force.
Make sure to wear all necessary protective equipment.
Follow the recommended procedure and use all recommended tooling to
release the spring force.
16. Remove the following items in order to remove spool assembly (29) from the valve body:
nut (24), retainer (25), coupling (26), spring (27) and retainer (28).
17. Remove plug (30).

18. Remove the following items from plug (30): O-ring seal (31), ring (32) and O-ring seal (33).

21. Remove spool (37) and spring (36).
22. Remove seat (38).

23. Remove the following items from seat (38): check ball (39), O-ring seal (40), seal (41) and
O-ring seal (42).
25. Slide tilt valve (47) from studs (7).
26. Remove O-ring seals (44), (45), and (46) from tilt valve (47).

27. Remove allen head screws (48) and cover (49).
28. Remove O-ring seal (49) from cover (48).
30. Remove allen head screws (51) and outer cover assembly (53).

31. Remove the following items from outer cover assembly (53): O-ring seal (55), spacer (56),
plunger (57), spring (58), cap (59) and O-ring seal (60).
33. Remove allen head screw (62) and inner cover housing (54).

34. Remove O-ring seal (63) from inner cover housing (54).
35. Remove valve assembly (64).
36. Remove the following items from valve assembly (64): O-ring seal (65), seal (66), O-ring
seal (67), O-ring seal (68), O-ring seal (69) and seal (70).

39. Remove spool valve (74) and spring (73).
40. Remove valve groups (75) and (76).
41. Remove the following items from valve groups (75) and (76): O-ring seal (77), seal (78) and
O-ring seal (79).

42. Remove the following items in order to remove spool assembly (80) from the valve body:
nut (85), retainer (84), coupling (83), spring (82) and retainer (81).
43. Remove seat (86).

44. Remove the following items from seat (86): check ball (87), O-ring seal (88), seal (89) and
O-ring seal (90).
46. Slide lift valve (95) from studs (7).
47. Remove O-ring seals (92), (93), and (94) from lift valve (95):

49. Remove allen head screws (96) and outer cover (98) from inner cover housing (99).
50. Remove the following items from outer cover (98): O-ring seal (100), spacer (101), plunger
(102), spring (103), cap (104) and O-ring seal (105).

52. Remove allen head screw (107) and inner cover housing (99).
53. Remove O-ring seal (108) from outer cover housing (98).
54. Remove valve assembly (109).
