2. Remove plug (2) and the O-ring seal from engine oil filter base (6).
3. Remove spring (4) and valve (5) from engine oil filter base (6).
4. Remove plug (9) and the O-ring seal from engine oil filter base (6).
5. Remove spring (8) and valve (7) from engine oil filter base (6).

To prevent possible injury, follow the established assembly procedure
and wear protective equipment.
1. Apply clean engine oil to O-ring seal (3). Install O-ring seal (3) on elbow (3). Install elbow
(1) in engine oil filter base (6).
2. Apply clean engine oil to the O-ring seal. Install the O-ring seal on plug (2).
3. Apply clean engine oil to valve (5). Install valve (5), spring (4), and plug (2) in engine oil
filter base (6).
4. Apply clean engine oil to the O-ring seal. Install the O-ring seal on plug (9).
5. Apply clean engine oil to valve (7). Install valve (7), spring (8), and plug (9) in engine oil

1. Install shaft (9) onto engine oil pump (4). Use Tooling (A) and a suitable press in order to
install bearing (10) into idler gear (11). Position idler gear (11) on shaft (9). Install bolt (12)
and the washer.

2. Mount the engine oil pump (4) to the cylinder block by hand tightening the mounting bolts
(3) into the cylinder block.
Note: Ensure that the mounting surfaces for the engine oil pump are thoroughly clean.
3. Without the O-rings, assemble the outlet elbow (6) between the block and the oil pump,
using the washers and bolts (2) and (5). Hand tighten only.
