3. Position camshaft gear (2) so that the gear's slots align from the top to the bottom. Install
bolts (1) and the washers that hold thrust plate (3). Tighten bolts (1) to a torque of
11 ± 2 N·m (97 ± 18 lb in).

23. 1. Install thrust plate (2) on the camshaft (3).
Always wear protective gloves when handling parts that have been
heated.
2. Raise the temperature of camshaft gear (1) and install camshaft gear (1) onto camshaft (3).
Note: Ensure that the timing marks of the camshaft gear are on the front.
End By:
a. Install the camshaft. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Camshaft - Install".
