The document provides instructions for removing and installing a camshaft on a 3046 engine used in 318B excavators. The removal process involves using pullers to separate the camshaft gear and thrust plate from the camshaft. Magnetic tools are used to hold the valve lifters in place. Installation requires aligning timing marks, lubricating components, and heating the camshaft gear before pressing it onto the camshaft. The camshaft, thrust plate and gear are then inserted into the cylinder block.
