Cast your net on the right side part 1
1. Cast your Net on the Right Side Part 1
Text: John 21:2-6
One of the quotes I heard so often w hen Iw as younger was "opportunitylost can never be regained". True or false? Everyone w ill
lose one opportunity or another in their life time. For some, it may be due to ignorance or indecision; w hereas, for othersit may be
due to distractions or not being at the right place at the right time. The list goes on.
What are the common opportunities thatpeople miss?
•Opportunity to show love, kindness, good impression
I have heard people say 'oh, I should have show n more love' I should have told him/her how much I care. I should have been more
kind to him or her, I should have said this instead of that...but now it's too late. 'First impression lasts long'. Now they have a bad
impression of me, how do I fix it?
•Job or business opportunity
•Relationships
•Connections
•Opportunity of a lifetime
Why do People miss Golden Opportunities?
•Lackof direction
•Confusion
•Self reliance
•Spiritual attack
From the text, Peter and his friends toiled all night w ith nothing to show for it. They caught no fish. But the moment Jesus came into
the picture, there w as a turnaround. Jesus said to them "Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you w illfind some. ” So they
cast, and now they w ere not able to draw it in because of the multitude of fish.” John 6:12 VJKN
2. When you allow Jesus to guide you, your successis guaranteed. Maybe you labor day and night but have nothing to show forit; ask
yourself "is my net on the w rong side of the boat?" Until you cast your net on the right side of the boat, there w illbe no results. Do
you w ant to catch multitude of fish like Peter and his friends? Then you need to have a relationship w ith Jesus, the one w ho can
guide you into your long aw aited miracle. He is the only one w ho can turn that situation around to your favour. If only you can give
Him a chance, you w illsee how He w illhelp you recover allyour lost opportunities. Whatever may be the cause of your lost
opportunities, Jesus can fix it, if only you can ask for His help.
Who is Jesus?
16 "For God so loved the w orld that He gave His only begotten Son, that w hoever believes in Him should not perish but have
everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the w orld to condemn the w orld, but that the w orld through Him might be
saved. 18 He w ho believes in Him is not condemned; but he w ho does not believe is condemned already, because he has not
believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” John VJKN81-61:3
Jesus is the Son of God w ho came to the w orld, suffered and died for you and me. It is through Him that w e can have eternallife.
