CareFlight is a charitable organization in Queensland, Australia that provides aeromedical services to the state's population of 4.5 million people across 10 major cities. As the second largest state with around 300 sunny days per year, Queensland relies strongly on CareFlight's retrieval services. The organization offers registrars excellent training and a Postgraduate Certificate in Retrieval Medicine, including aviation safety, underwater escape training, and helicopter winching. Australian Aero-Medical Retrieval Roles
CareFlight is a charitable organisation which provides aero-medical
services throughout the state of Queensland. With its relaxed lifestyle
and an average of 300 sunny days per year, Queensland is also
known as the Sunshine State. It is the second-largest state with a
population of 4.5 million, and is home to 10 of Australia’s 30 largest
cities. The relatively widespread population relies strongly on aero-
medical retrieval services.
Training/Postgraduate Certificate
Registrars with CareFlight get the opportunity to enrol in a
Postgraduate Certificate in Retrieval Medicine and receive excellent
training which involves all aspects of retrieval and pre-hospital care
(as well as aviation safety, helicopter underwater escape training and
helicopter winching).
Since 2010 we have recruited more than 40 Registrars and
Consultants for CareFlight. The experience is second to none, both
clinically and academically. With regular lectures, CPD and study
time, this is a fantastic career as well as life experience.
