Data was scraped from HTML tags on Zillow's website containing average home values for different ZIP codes. DataLoad.py retrieved ZIP codes and their corresponding county FIPS codes from a text file, then queried Zillow to get average home value data and stored it in a database. DataClean.py normalized the average home value data and wrote it to a TSV file for visualization with D3, displaying average home prices for over 1300 US counties with some data missing. The top 50 most expensive ZIP codes by average home value were also mapped with Google Maps, concentrated in CA and NY but also including Miami, FL and Aspen, CO, where average home values reached $1.5 million.
