“Conveyance”
Efficient and effective Automated Material Handling is crucial
to your production throughput. The ROI of your application
development and process equipment is lost when the
automated material handling doesn’t consistently and
accurately move parts through your manufacturing line.
Martek Automation’s core competencies in automated
material handling and assembly processes were learned in the
semiconductor back-end assembly industry. Martek
Automation is an industry expert, designing and building the
best automated material handling equipment for the
semiconductor back-end assembly industry.
8. 1130U-CE Upstream Magazine Unloader &
1130D-CE Downstream Magazine Loader
Magazine handlers automate the load and unload operations of
your conveyorized production line or process cells. This frees your
operators to perform more important tasks and increases product
yield by removing the human error that occurs when operators
handle your parts. Martek magazine handlers have set the industry
standard for automated feed systems for the semiconductor
backend assembly industry for nearly 30 years.
The 1130U/D-CE system uses a two-axis actuator design. This
allows for multiple columns in the horizontal axis (dependent on
magazine width) and can be stacked two rows high (dependent on
magazine height).
Standard Auer Boat Magazine Capacity:
3.1 ” Auer Boat Qty 8
4.3″ Auer Boat Qty 6
5.4″ Auer Boat Qty 4
The CE design fully encloses moving components for maximum
safety and includes two access doors for convenient loading and
unloading of magazines from the front or the side of the machine.

150 0D-CE Downstream Magazine Loader
SMALLEST FOOTPRINT MICRO UNLOADER WITH CAPACITY FOR ONE
OR TWO MAGAZINES
1500U 1500D
The 1500U and 1500D Magazine Handlers are Martek
Automation’s smallest footprint and lowest cost magazine
handlers with a capacity of one or two magazines.
When space is at a premium, the 1500U and 1500D are the
magazine handlers of choice. This material handler has a
small footprint with a width of only 23.4 inches (593.73
mm) and a depth of only 24.6 inches (624.27 mm).
10. BC1200 INLINE BUFFER
CONVEYOR
BC1200
Inline buffer conveyors accumulate product whenever a downstream system is not
available. This buffering keeps the conveyorized product line running smoothly.
Martek Automation’s unique design uses removable extruded aluminum magazines as
the physical buffers. This allows for infinite buffer space and unique use case scenarios
in which inline access for part removal or insertion is required.
Our design provides maximum flexibility 3 modes of operation: LIFO/FIFO, Load Only
and Unload Only. In addition, the input conveyor includes a Pause for inspection
feature.
LIFO / FIFO BUFFER: Select either LIFO or FIFO buffering while receiving parts from
the upstream and passing them through to the downstream. Parts are buffered when
the downstream is operating slower than the upstream.
OUT ONLY: Load magazines filled with buffer parts to insert the parts back into the
downstream..
IN ONLY: Buffers parts from the upstream line, when the downstream line is not
operating. Unload full magazines and load empty magazines for unlimited buffering.
Use with OUT ONLY to reinsert the buffer parts when the downstream line is operating
again.
INSPECTION: Pause the parts at the input conveyor for visual inspection. The design
easily integrates optional add-on equipment for visual inspection of your parts.
11. SC1400 SPLITTER CONVEYOR &
CC1400 COMBINER CONVEYOR
Split and Combine conveyors split products moving on one lane
onto multiple lanes or combine products from multiple lanes onto
one conveyorized lane. A common use case is the automated
loading and unloading of multi-lane belt driven oven for post-
process cure.
Martek Automation’s SC1400 Splitter Conveyor receives parts or
carriers from a single lane conveyor and splits them onto multiple
parallel lanes. The CC1400 Combiner Conveyor receives parts
from multiple lanes and consolidates them down to a single lane.
Our customers rave about the simple, intuitive operation of our
human machine interface designs. We pride ourselves in creating
machines that are easy and ready to operate out of the box
SC1400
12. PROCESS CARRIERS
AND MAGAZINES
Process carriers and magazines makeup the backbone of
semi and fully automated material handling and
conveyance systems.
When precision and reliability are the main factors,
Machined Carriers will meet your process needs. These
carriers can be thermally cycled without changing flatness
or accuracy. Some of our customers have had their carriers
in process for 15 years without any noticeable changes.
When combined with Martek Automation’s magazines and
automated feed systems you can leverage the maximum
benefit of automating your production line with
conveyorized material handling systems
Magazines hold multiple process carriers. Unprocessed
parts in magazines are loaded onto an automated
magazine unloader system, such as Martek Automation’s
1130U-CE. Martek Automation can design and fabricate
your magazines to meet special processing requirements
as well as customized widths, lengths and pitch between
slots.
13. Standard products
“Process”
The following processes form the core of
semiconductor back-end production:
• Die Attach
• Optical Inspection
• Wire Bonding

industry.
14. FC5000 Flexible
Robotic Work-cell
The Martek Automation FC5000 Flexible Robotic Work Cell was
developed to meet a growing need for configurable automation
at an affordable price. The main strength of this system is that it
can be integrated with any number of processes and can have
more than one process on the work head. The X,Y actuators are
scalable for speed and accuracy. The Z Axis can be voice coil,
servo, stepper or pneumatic actuated to meet your budget and
application. The FC5000 is also configurable for two work heads
to significantly improve throughput in the same footprint and at
a much lower cost than two machines.
Application examples for the FC5000 Work-cell:
• Transfer parts from a production carrier to a special process
carriers or to final test and packaging trays
• Pick and Place
• Dispensing
• Ink jet printing
• Optical inspection
• Functional testing of RF and Microwave devices
15. CM3000-PH PRE PROCESS HEATING &
CM3000-PC POST PROCESS COOLING
Pre-Process Heating of micro electronics packages prepares them for process
applications that are done above ambient temperature. This dramatically
increases throughput due to no wait time for the heated process tool to bring
the package up to process temperature.
Post-Process Cooling is required when the downstream process is performed at
ambient temperature or when the package mass is large enough that it needs
time to cool before handling by operators.
These systems can be configured for all types of carriers and devices. Martek
Automation has experience feeding all types of devices to include PCB’s, lead
frames, ceramic substrates, Auer boats and machined process carriers.
The moving components are fully enclosed for maximum operator safety during
operation.
16. HS500 Eutectic Heat
Stage
The HS500 can be integrated into a pick and place robotic work cell for
clamping, heating, and/or purging with inert gas for the Eutectic Die
Attach process of Micro Electronic packages.
The HS500 operates at a maximum of 450ºC. The included Control
Station allows for instant access to information through easy-to-read
gauges. Automatic mode allows for remotely controlling the clamp and
shutter systems. The Control Station allows for the manual setting of
the following: 1) gas pressure and flow, 2) inactivity timer to shut off
gas flow, and 3) temperature setting. In addition, the manual switches
control: 1) opening and closing of clamps and shutters and 2) toggling
heaters on and off. Precision leveling devices allow for easy set up of
height and levelness to your process head and the rugged construction
allows for 24/7 operation.
