Dear Senior Girl:
I’m sure you’re already planning your senior year activities. We hope part of your planning includes consideration for being
your school’s representative to the Inland Northwest as a Lilac Festival Fab 14 candidate and possibly a 2010 Royal Court
member.
The Lilac Queen and six Princesses play a very important role as ambassadors of goodwill while representing Spokane
County throughout the Pacific Northwest. To be eligible to run for Royalty, you must:
• Have an accumulative GPA of 3.0 at the end of your Junior year.
• Be a full-time high school student in Spokane County and be scheduled to graduate with your class.
• Be single, never have been married, divorced or had a marriage annulled.
• Be childless.
• Never have been convicted of a crime.
• Not hold another crown.
If chosen as a member of the 2010 Royal Court at the Royalty Scholarship Selection in February 2010, you will develop
leadership, public relations and speaking skills as you travel throughout the Northwest. Members of the Royal Court have a
busy schedule. Lilac would be your first priority, so consider the activities in which you are involved. Winter and spring
sports can cause scheduling conflicts. Even choir and band have proven to cause stressful situations. You must decide
whether your participation in these activities is compatible with the busy schedule of the Lilac Royalty Court.
If chosen as a member of the 2010 Royal Court, you will receive a generous scholarship. Additionally, each member of the
Fab 14 is eligible for scholarships apart from those awarded to the Royal Court.
If you are a home-school student or a student in Running Start, your eligibility will be handled through your base high
