George Eastman invented the modern camera in the late 19th century. He was born in 1854 in Waterville, New York and died in 1942 in Rochester, New York at age 77. The camera has a film inside and a lens outside, along with wires that could electrically shock you if handled improperly. Eastman helped pioneer photography as a hobby and business through his inventions and affordable cameras.
