The 2nd International Conference on Sustainable Development (ICSD 2014) will be held in Rome from September 26-27, 2014, organized by the European Center of Sustainable Development. The conference aims to promote collaboration in sustainability science and invites abstracts on various themes, with a submission deadline of March 30, 2014. Participants can attend in person or virtually, and accepted papers will be published in a special issue of the European Journal of Sustainable Development.

ICSD 2014 will be held at the Roma Eventi­Piazza di Spagna, Via Alibert, 5 organized by
the European Center of Sustainable Development, from:
Friday 26 to Saturday 27 September, 2014.
2ndICSD2014 will be an excellent opportunity to present your projects and discuss the latest results in the field
of Sustainability Science. The general aim of the conference is to promote international collaboration
in Sustainability Science and related disciplines. The attendance of more than 100 delegates from 20
different countries is expected.
The Conference theme is Creating a unified foundation for the Sustainable Development: research, practice and education.
This theme emphasizes the strong foundation that is provided by using research to inform our everyday
practices, policies, and research approaches. The 2014 Conference will once again provide a forum for the
sharing of ideas, presentation of research findings, and discussion of professional issues relevant to
Sustainability Science.
On behalf of the Scientific Program Committee, I have great pleasure in inviting you to submit one or more
abstracts (for oral or poster presentation) in accordance with the instructions that are provided on the
Call for Papers page at: www.ecsdev.org
We invite you to submit an abstract in the range of the following streams within the ICSD2013 program:
Economic Sustainability:
Financial Sustainability, SME, MicroFinance, Emerging Countries, International Trade,
Environmental Sustainability:
Water and Soil conservation, Healthcare, Renewable Energies,
Socio­Cultural Sustainability:
Sustainable Urbanism, Education, Human Development, Psychology, Sociology
Proposal ideas that extend beyond these thematic areas will also be considered.
Virtual participation is available for those who are unable to attend the conference in person.
All abstracts will be reviewed by members of the 2°ICSD2014 Steering Committee for rating of abstract quality
and presentation content.
