this is a document based on Ezekiel 25. God lists a few nations who laughed at the Calamity of Israel. God judges those nations. He doesn't spare us the details. He gives us the how, why, and what the judgements are. another thing to note, God shows us how each of those nations came to realize that He is the LORD GOD.

1. The subjectof Calamity,whichcanalso be knownas God’sJudgement:
A.) Don’tlaughat the calamityof others,if youdo twothingswill happen:
1.) If you laughat someone’scalamitythenGodwill turnawayHisjudgement:
- (Prov 24:17) Rejoice notwhenthine enemyfalleth,andletnotthine heartbe glad
whenhe stumbleth:
- (Prov24:18) Lest the LORD see it,and itdisplease him, andhe turnawayhiswrath
fromhim.
2.) If you laughat someone’scalamitythenGodwill punishyou,regardlessof how many
buddiesyouhave:
- (Prov17:5) Whosomockeththe poor reproachethhisMaker:and he that isglad at
calamitiesshall notbe unpunished.
- (Prov11:21) Though handjoin inhand,the wickedshall notbe unpunished:butthe
seedof the righteousshall be delivered.
- (Prov 16:5) Everyone that isproud inheartis an abominationtothe LORD: though
handjoin in hand,he shall notbe unpunished.
B.) Examplesof nationswholaughedatIsrael’sCalamity:
1.) The Amonites:
 Let’stake a lookat Ezekiel 25:1-7
(Ezek25:1) The word of the LORD came againunto me,saying,
(Ezek25:2) Sonof man,setthy face againstthe Ammonites,andprophesy
againstthem;
(Ezek25:3) Andsay untothe Ammonites,Hearthe wordof the Lord GOD;
Thus saiththe Lord GOD; Because thousaidst,Aha,againstmy sanctuary,
whenitwas profaned;andagainstthe landof Israel,whenitwasdesolate;
and againstthe house of Judah,whentheywentintocaptivity;
(Ezek25:4) Behold,therefore Iwill deliverthee tothe menof the east fora
possession,andtheyshall settheirpalacesinthee,andmake their
dwellingsinthee:theyshall eatthyfruit,andtheyshall drinkthymilk.
(Ezek25:5) AndI will make Rabbaha stable forcamels,andthe Ammonites
a couchingplace forflocks:andye shall know thatI am the LORD.
(Ezek25:6) For thussaiththe Lord GOD; Because thouhastclappedthine
hands,and stampedwiththe feet,andrejoicedinheartwithall thydespite
againstthe landof Israel;
(Ezek 25:7) Behold,therefore Iwill stretchoutmine handuponthee,and
will deliverthee foraspoil tothe heathen;andI will cutthee off fromthe
people,andIwill cause thee toperishoutof the countries:Iwill destroy
thee;andthou shaltknow that I am the LORD.
 God’sjudgementsonthe Amonites:{verses4,5,& 7}

2. - The Amoniteswere deliveredtothe menof the east fora possession.The
easternerswoulddomore thanenslave the Amonite people.Theywere goingtoset
theirpalacesinthe land of the Amonitesandlive there.Theyalsowere goingto
take the fruitand milkof the Amonites.
- The easternerswouldturnRabbahintoa stable fortheircamels.Rabbah wasthe
landof the Ammonites.Rabbahwasalsoaland populated bygiants(see
Deuteronomy3:11; Rabbahis the landDavid’smenbesiegedwhenhe killedthe
Ammonitesin2Samuel11). The Ammoniteswerealsogoingtobe the shepherdsto
the flocksof the easternmen.
- God saidHE wasgoingto stretch outhishand uponthe Ammonites,already
expounded uponinverses4and 5. He promisedtodeliverthemtothe heathenfor
a spoil.GodsaidHe wouldcut off the Ammonitesfromthe people,alsoknownas
seclusion. GodsaidHe wasgoingto destroythe Ammonitestwice,once inEzekiel
25:10 and againin Ezekiel 25:7.God fulfilled“Iwill destroythee”in2 Samuel 11.
 “and thou shaltknow that I am the LORD” {verse 7}
- (Isa45:23) I have swornbymyself,the wordisgone outof my mouthin
righteousness,andshall notreturn,Thatuntome everyknee shall bow,every
tongue shall swear.
- (Rom 14:11) For itis written,As Ilive,saiththe Lord,everyknee shall bow tome,
and everytongue shall confesstoGod.
- Conclusion:Don’trefuse Godlike the Amonites oryou’ll enduplike theydid.They
got to knowwhoGod reallyis,whenHe destroyedthem.
 Why God destroyedthe ammonites{verses3& 6}
- Theysaid“aha” whenGodprofaned Hisownsanctuary inIsrael (see Ezekiel 24:15-
21). Theyalso said“aha” whenGod made the landof Israel desolate andwhenGod
sentJudahintocaptivity.
- The Ammoniteserredbyclappingtheirhandsatthe calamityof God’speople.The
Ammoniteserredwhentheystompedtheirfeetatthe calamityof God’s people.
God was displeasedby the rejoicinginthe heartsof the Ammonites,because the
Ammoniteswere rejoicingagainstHIM.
2.) Moab and Seir{Ezekiel 25:8-11}
 Esau movedhisfamilytomountSeirinGenesis36:6-8. Asyou see inEzekiel
25:8-11, God judgesthe Edomitesalongsidethe Moabites.Godjudgesthe
Edomites again,butthe secondtime theyare judgedalone. Accordingto
Genesis14:6, the HoritesdweltinmountSeiraswell.
 Let’stake a lookat whatGod saidto Moab andSeir:
- (Ezek25:8) Thussaiththe Lord GOD; Because that Moab and Seirdosay, Behold,
the house of Judahis like untoall the heathen;
- (Ezek25:9) Therefore,behold,Iwill openthe side of Moabfromthe cities,fromhis
citieswhichare on hisfrontiers,the gloryof the country,Bethjeshimoth,Baalmeon,
and Kiriathaim,

3. - (Ezek25:10) Unto the men of the east withthe Ammonites,andwill give themin
possession,thatthe Ammonitesmaynotbe rememberedamongthe nations.
- (Ezek25:11) AndI will execute judgmentsuponMoab;andtheyshall know that I am
the LORD.
 God’sjudgement{9& 10}
- God was goingto openthe citiesaroundmoabto the enemy,the menof the east.
An interestingthingtonote,KiriathaimislocatednearSodomandGomorrah
(genesis14:5-10).
 “Andtheyshall know that I am the LORD”
- (Prov13:20) He that walkethwithwise men shallbe wise:butacompanionof fools
shall be destroyed.
- (Ezek25:11) AndI will execute judgmentsuponMoab;andtheyshall know that I am
the LORD.
- Conclusion:we candraw from whatwe’ve lookedatsofar that the Moabites
haven’tbeendestroyedyet.Theywere givenachance.Godwas introducingHimself
throughHis judgements.We alsosee thatMoab was the fool andthe ammonites
were the companionof the fool.
 Why didGod judge Moab andSeir?{8}
- Theysaidthat Judahwas justlike the heathen.
3.) Edom {Ezekiel 25:9-11,12-14}
 Judgedonce withMoab,the Ammonites,andthe otherinhabitantsof Seir.
 Let’ssee whatGod saidto themalone:
- 25:12 Thus saiththe Lord GOD; Because that Edomhath dealtagainstthe house of
Judahby takingvengeance,andhathgreatlyoffended,andrevengedhimselfupon
them;
- 25:13 Therefore thussaiththe LordGOD; I will alsostretchoutmine handupon
Edom,and will cutoff man and beastfromit; andI will make itdesolate from
Teman;and theyof Dedanshall fall bythe sword.
- 25:14 AndI will laymyvengeance uponEdombythe hand of my people Israel:and
theyshall doin Edomaccording to mine angerandaccordingto my fury;and they
shall knowmyvengeance,saiththe LordGOD.
 God’sJudgementon Edom{Ezekiel 25:13 & 14}
- God stretchedHishandout againstEdom, He was afflictingthem.He wasgoingto
kill everymanandbeastfromEdom. Temanwasgoingto be desolate (Temanisthe
name of a duke andis a city of Edom, see Gen 36). God saidDedanwas goingto fall
by the sword.Dedanisthe land of Dedan.Genesis10: 6 & 7 show usthat Dedan
was a descendantof cush,the sonof Ham.
- God laysout Hisbattle plan.Israel will carryoutthe orderof God’s furyon Edom.
Israel will be ashard on Edomas God says to be.
 “theyshall know myvengeance,saiththe LordGOD” {Ezekiel 25:14}
- Conclusion:EdomhadalreadyknownGodisthe LORD,so God saidthey’dknowHis
vengeance.
 Why didGod judge Edom? {Ezekiel 25:12}

4. - Edom wasjudgedbecause theytookvengeanceagainstJudah.Bytakingrevenge on
JudahtheyoffendedJudah.
4.) The Philistines{Ezekiel 25:15-17}
 Let’ssee whatGod Saidto the Philistines:
- (Ezek25:15) Thus saiththe Lord GOD; Because the Philistineshave dealtbyrevenge,
and have takenvengeance withadespiteful heart,todestroy[it] forthe oldhatred;
- (Ezek25:16) Therefore thussaiththe LordGOD; Behold,Iwill stretchoutmine hand
uponthe Philistines,andIwill cutoff the Cherethims,anddestroythe remnantof
the sea coast.
- (Ezek25:17) AndI will execute greatvengeance uponthemwithfuriousrebukes;
and theyshall knowthatI [am] the LORD, whenI shall laymyvengeance uponthem.
 Judgements{Ezekiel 25:16 & 17}
- God was goingto afflictthe Philistines,kill all the cherethims(they dweltin
philistim).He wasgoingtodestroythe rest of those whowere onthe sea coast.
- God wasn’tgoingeasyon them, He had some furiousrebukesforthem.
 The conclusion:{Ezekiel 25:17}
- The philistineswouldknow Godwasthe LORD by the vengeance He executedon
them.
 The Reasonfor theirjudgement:{Ezekiel 25:15}
- The Philistinesheldontoagrudge againstIsrael.Theyweren’tholdinganythingback
whentheyrevengedthemselvesonIsrael,Godwasn’tgoingtoextendanymercyto
the Philistines.
