This document provides a list of drought-tolerant plant groups suitable for Arkansas landscapes, including trees, shrubs, perennials, annuals, vines, wildflowers, herbs and grasses. It notes that some plants may fit into multiple categories and recommends further research on individual plant characteristics. The document also points out that central Arkansas experiences adequate water in winter and spring but suffers more from drought in summer and early autumn. Experience will reveal which plants are best suited to individual landscapes. The list was prepared by Pulaski County Master Gardeners.
