Over the past three years, Serbia and Belgrade have shown a high level of
economic growth, increasing by 7%. The country also has balanced its national
budget, maintained low national debt at less than one third of its GDP, and
amassed foreign currency reserves amounting to over 14 billion dollars.
Belgrade now accounts for 40% of Serbia’s economy, and has become
Southeast Europe’s financial and business centre with rising levels of direct
foreign investment. According to National Statistics Institute, 7% of household
