The New Litty Mathew- How did I lose 11 kgs in 8 months?
I still evoke how heavy and plump I
looked in front of the crowd at the time I
was asked to tie the knot during my
wedding. There were times when my wife
Nisha was against my looks and found me
uncomfortable to be with. She would even
avoid me and give me stern looks. In fact I
was not someone in her list who she
wanted to be with .. It just clicked. Once I
was on my little couch watching one of
my all-time favorite video she could
see a big tire like think protruding
out from my stomach and asked what was
this? That’s when she was so concerned
asking why I don’t have the intention
to pull down. I knew she was flipped off
.At that moment when I looked at myself
in front of the mirror I looked fine.
Perhaps the frantic life style and work
schedule just drew me insane that at the
end of the day I was so pooped that I had
no energy. Sweltering those little calories
was one of my turning point last year
although it was never in my books of my
New Year resolution. Whilst I am still
trying to burn a little more why not share
what I went through during this interim
period to my fellow beings? The last time
I pulled down was when I completed my
high school in 2003 and was about to head
to college out here. No one ever
compelled me to lose that little fat, it was
just my goal. Back in college I never used
to work and those days I was so bubbly
and active that I am wondering from
where did I get that stamina to run around
for hours near my building veranda after a
light warm up wearing those night
tracks listening to some fast numbers to
be in pace. After I started working I
started gaining weight immensely and
here I am again after so many years of
toiling in day and night that I lost 10kgs in
8 months. I was 95 at the start and I am
now 84 kgs. I always ensure that I never
skip a day although I did due to
some surprise programs. The time of
exercise and how you work out is what
matters. So I usually head home early
evening after driving through the daily
traffic snarls refresh myself up, do a little
of serene yoga , warm up myself and head
down to a place that is not filled with
population. As is it we are living in a city
where you cant even breath properly filled
with people. Since this place was a bit far
I had to commute driving down to reach
the exercise spot. What’s even worst was
during the scorching summers when the
temp rise to 50 Degrees. I could feelthe
humidity on my skin. But whenever I put
my foot forward there is no turn back and
no compromise. I say to myself that
nothing is impossible in my life. That’s
the spirit. May be boost is the secret of
my energy. Thanks to the passersby who
used to literally bring me bottles of water
whenever I had to quench my thirst. So I
literally started walking around
slowly listening to Stomp sang by
niggers back in US who term them self as
Gods own property. Each day I used to
increase the time and since it was so long
since I exercised and stretched myself out
I had cracks,muscle pains but I had a hint
that it was because of
the rigorous exercise. But that wasn’t a
deterrent. There were not to
many exercise lovers. I knew I had to
burn those fat and I had to mind my own
business. Some would just stop by just to
get a little respite from the heat while
others would just head for their daily stroll
. I know I had a lot of work to be done so I
just snubbed passers by

and walked leisurely .As I
got used to it, I nearly spent 3
hours every day walking and
jogging sweating it out.
Regular visitors who hang
around this area started
being regular .There were
people of various shapes and
size in the compound and
thanks for giving me way
without obstructing my daily
jog. Gasping and gasping
during those rounds really
made me burn those
calories. This is now my
daily task and I just love it. I
feel light weight, trendy,
slim and can even hop into
my brothers wardrobe and
wear T shirts and Shirts
only that pertains to the
Small or medium Size
category. Large and XL
will make my looks more
shabby .( out of my
dictionary) I don’t visit any
doctors nor counsellors nor
waste my prized time going
to the gym. I am my own
gym master and my own
dietician. Even if by chance I
hog junk I do spent time
sweating it out which makes
me more fit. Huh!!! I
don’t want to be a muscle
man. I want to be just
healthy. Regular yoga’s and
breathing techniques has
helped me be more composed
and tolerant disparate the
time when I used to scuffle ,
shriek, curse and cut people
off .Want to try me out? All
thanks to my patience, time
determination,
confidence and stamina.
My target weight is 75 kgs
as per my BMI and my
target month set for my self
is August. So got a few more
calories to burn. I will be
back to feed you more on
my progress along with some
useful diet plan.
