The Lafayette Library held a special program at the Lafayette Community Garden for children about bugs. The children made clay bugs and then went on a scavenger hunt to find real bugs and worms. They also planted potatoes and released ladybugs to eat aphids damaging a cabbage plant. The children were encouraged to take some friendly bugs home for their gardens. The library will return on April 20th for a composting demonstration and story time about how garbage can help gardens.
