The City Hall is built in the center
of downtown Fredericton. It is in a
busy district of town so it would be
an interesting area for tourism.

other tourist attractions such as, the

which was funded by Lord and Lady
Beaverbrook. It hosts local talent acts as
well as touring performers.

9. Fredericton is in New Brunswick which is part of the Atlantic
Region of Canada, along with Nova Scotia and Prince Edward
Island.

10. Normally, building a city that is split apart by a
river would be difficult. However, Fredericton’s
Railway Bridge connects the city together. This
bridge is meant to be a pedestrian bridge and is
known as the worlds longest walking bridge.

11. Because this city is in the
maritime region, the city is near
the ocean which helps keep the
city cooler during the summer. As
well as less intense winters.
Growing season takes place around the middle of May until
mid-October

12. The Harvest Jazz & Blues festival is a large
music festival in Fredericton. In the festival,
performances of the blues and jazz music is
played across downtown Fredericton, roughly
six city blocks big.

The Maritime Countryfest is a outdoor music festival with
several live performances of county music.

13. In the 19th and early 20th century,
Forestry/lumber was the city’s main source
of economy because of the large forest
areas.
Now city receives most income from
universities.
In other words, the city was a resourced
based income, now it’s mostly service based.

15. Fredericton is home to thousands of
immigrants from around the world.
However a majority of the immigrants came
from eastern Asia (About 33%).
During the early development of
the city, the city mostly consisted
of people of European origin.
In the 1960’s to 1970’s a large
Asian population immigrated
into this city.

16. Many years ago, the land where Fredericton is currently
was once used as farm land for the First Nations, Mi’kmaq
and Maliseet. The colonization of this land began after King
William’s war in the late 17th century.
Livable or not?
Fredericton isn’t a very large city. However, there is a nice
community, they welcome new immigrants, and good
education services. I think this place is very livable and
good if you’re not a fan of busy city streets but like a more
calm environment.
