This is our final script for our short film this was what we created and what we knew we would use for the final piece.

1. Broken together Script
(The day startsoff reallyhappilyandexcited,Samwakesupandgetsready,still happy. There is
parallelsshowingSamgettingreadyandherfosterdad sat downstairslookinglike he hasthe weight
of the worldonhisshoulders.The shotcutsto Sam lookingtowardanemptychair.Outside her
fosterparentandher social workerare sat down)
Fosterdad: five times.
Social worker:Iknow.
Fosterdad: Five timesthey’ve letherdownlike this.Allshe wantstodois meetherreal parent.
Social worker:Well maybe itwill workoutbetternexttime.
Fosterdad: yeah.Nexttime.
(The fosterdadand Sam are inthe car drivingbackto theirhome Fosterdadlooksoverto Sam)
Fosterdad: Sorry,buddymaybe they’ll show upnexttime
Sam: yeahmaybe
(Theyarrive at home andwhentheygetin Fosterdadturns to Sam)
Fosterdad: Hey Sam howaboutsome hot chocolate?
Sam: nah maybe later
(Samgoestowardsthe stairswalkingupstairssadly.Fosterdadwatchesrubbinghisforeheadand

isheard singinghappybirthdayto Sam.Whentheygetto her name inthe song a male handis
placedonher shouldershe turnsaround andtry’s to place theirhandonthe man’shandbut no one
isthere. Sam sighsandshoves the card intotheirface fallingbackontotheirbed. The nextdaySam
issat at herdesk at school drawinga copy of the picture she has at her house inthe card. A voice
that isaimedtowardsheris muffleduntil itsnapsintoaclear sound.)
Teacher:Sam?!
(Samlooksup shylynotlikingthe attention)
Teacher:Well doyou knowthe answer?
Sam: No,sorry sir
(The teachersighsbutmovesonallowingSamto carry on drawingthe dayprogressesandas Sam is
walkingdownthe hallwayshe bumpsintothree otherstudents.Theyall glare atSamas she goesto
pickup herbooksthat she has dropped.)
Leo:Hey whydon’tyouwatch where you’re going!

picksit up.)
Sam: Give thatback
Irena:or what?
(Samtriedto grab the paperbut Irenapushedherback knockingherover.Irnapassesthe image
overto Leo whosmirksat it.)
Leo:this isa nice picture it’dbe a shame if someone were to...ohIdon’tknow do this

(Samspinsaroundbut justas she doesthat itcuts to her bedroomanda knock onthe doorher
fosterparententersashe entersfullyhe looksaroundlookingworriedand abitconfused.He then
looksto herbedand see’sthe picture he picksitupand leavestakingitwithhim.Itthencuts back as
the door shutsbehindthe fosterparenttoSam beinggangeduponby Irna and Leo.)

Sam: What isit?

herhands. One year laterSam isstoodoutside of a door withanenvelope inherhands she takesa
